Material Quality Engineer

Job Description:  As a Quality Engineering (QE) Material Quality Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you are responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of control and mitigation schemes to protect manufacturing from changes in our incoming materials and environment.  This will be accomplished using project management skills in conjunction with in depth materials and chemistry knowledge.  The goal of this position is to continually work with the global team to proactively assess sources of risk and enact changes to our monitoring, tooling, filtration strategies preventing impact to production and product. In order to be successful this role will need to interact with purchasing, equipment engineering, facilities and others to deploy said programs.


Job Responsibilities:

Maintain and Improve Business Process for proactive risk assessment.

Lead implementation of key global projects for detection and mitigation.

Design and Improve tracking of compliance to control plan.

Maintain program of business rules for escalation of failures.


Required Skills:

In depth technical understanding of materials and the effect of impurities both organic and inorganic.

Can demonstrate effective collaboration with others.

Critical interpretation of business rules and supplier agreements.

Versed in problem solving methodologies such as 8D.

Knowledgeable of FMEA and Control Plan Operations.

Self-disciplined to keep organized and track multiple plans.

Strong organizational and record keeping skills are required.

Technical proficiency with Microsoft products required.

Self-motived to improve processes and own skillsets.


Education and Experience:

MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Material Science or 5 years’ experience working in relevant field.
