FEMQA Engineer

Job Description - As a Front-End Manufacturing Quality Engineer at Micron's Manassas, Virginia site (Fab 6), you will be part of the Global Quality team responsible to support Micron’s quality mission by leading and inspiring world-class quality systems and services to deliver industry-leading DRAM/NAND/NOR products. You will collaborate daily with Process, Product, Local QA, and Global Product Quality Reliability Assurance (PQRA) and Integration Engineers to solve complex quality problems, and to ensure the highest quality of product sold to Micron’s customers. 


 Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and react to wafer quality indicators and quality events highlighted by Fab Process, Product Engineering, and Site QA teams
  • Proactively contain any deviated or non conforming material from shipping out to both internal and external customers
  • Create technical product risk assessment reports on deviated or non conforming material in your areas of ownership, decide on additional QA data collection requirements, and recommend final disposition of the product
  • Assess risk, define Q&R data collection requirements, and approve planned deviations to product disposition
  • Create SBL QRA hold criteria, maintain, and update criteria on regular basis
  • Coordinate with Site QA team to identify root cause for deviations and driving corrective and systematic preventive actions using 8D, 5 Whys, and/or Fishbone problem solving methodologies
  • Design and develop automation solutions for routine QA monitoring, risk assessment, and disposition tasks
  • Lead projects to drive global compliance to manufacturing quality standards and support Automotive Zero Defects program


  • Master’s Degree in Physics, Electrical, Electronics, Material Science, and/or Microelectronics Engineering
  • Good knowledge of semiconductor device physics, MOSFET working principles, and fabrication processes
  • Good understanding of CMOS and/or DRAM/NAND/NOR memory reliability failure modes
  • Good knowledge of Statistics and Process Control (SPC) concepts in manufacturing environment. JMP Experience a plus.
  • Excellent data analysis, analytical problem solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate projects in a team environment
