SSD Principal Product Engineer

Micron is looking for a Principal SSD Product Engineer (PE) with PCIe / NVMe protocol experience, to join the Longmont, Colorado SSD Product Engineering group. You will be a product PE lead, responsible for the development and validation of Micron’s solid state drives (SSDs) high volume manufacturing test process for that product. This will involve assessing new product and technology changes, staging test process development for these changes and supporting design engineering leads and manufacturing teams in program planning and management of SSD manufacturing test deliverables. The PE lead works with other functional team leads and customers through technical customer managers to capture test process requirements. Once requirements have been understood, the SSD test process team works with the product development team to define a test strategy utilizing drive self-test, tester software, and/or factory information systems to meet those needs. The Product Engineer Lead is responsible for communicating relevant information with the design engineering teams, functional organizations, upper management, and the manufacturing teams.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Understand SSD Drives and Technology specifics as it relates to MFG Test Process
  • Document changes need to the test process and specification limits including dependencies from other functional teams
  • Build a test process development plan taking a product from New Product Development through to High Volume Manufacturing including code reviews, unit validations, data analysis and reviews, establishing test limits, FA and debug
  • Collaborate with Test SW Development, Internal PE team members across the globe to achieve desired outcome
  • Communicate progress and issues to product team, PE team and PE management
  • Develop future test SW and HW strategies and drive requirements into other functional teams roadmaps
  • Collaborate with both internal and external teams
  • Periodically review Micron SSD Manufacturing strategies with customers

 

Qualifications:

  • PCIe and/or SATA experience is required
  • NVMe experience is highly desirable
  • A minimum of 8+ years of related working experience
  • Software skills required: Python, Object Oriented languages, Linux
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Works effectively in team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and complete in a timely manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, JIRA, Confluence, Git, Artifactory applications
  • Proficient in Basics statistics including statistical process control, GR&R, DOEs,
  • Versatile in SW / FW Development Agile practices
  • Relational database understanding, SQL query experience a plus
  • Willingness to travel (both in US and outside US)

 

Education:

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline required.

MS in any of the above disciplines is a plus.
