Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Micron Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Lehi, UT you will perform the maintenance on related Facilities equipment and systems. Under limited supervision, you will perform moderately complex tasks of a more specialized nature that frequently require independent analysis and decision making. You can also expect to perform moderately complex troubleshooting and repairs.

 

Responsibilities

  • A high level of skill in maintaining and operating a variety of critical equipment
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving on equipment and systems
  • Submit work orders to take corrective action on identified problems
  • Interact with peers at other sites to assist in troubleshooting problems
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineers on system design, operations, and maintenance
  • Provide repair and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment such as: air compressors, compressed dry air dryers, high pressure air compressors, centrifugal pumps, air handlers, piping, valves, process cooling water, chilled water systems, and air abatement systems (scrubbers) and more.
  • Ability to read, follow and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • interpret mechanical piping P&ID and design drawings
  • Ability to follow an automated PM program
  • Follow established Total Productive Maintenance program (TPM)
  • Become familiar with, and adhere to all company policies, handbooks, and procedures
  • Be willing to work flexible schedules including holidays and be on call if deemed necessary.

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required
  • Five or more years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment is preferred
  • 1 year of college level education or equivalent. (Military training or 2 years of in‑trade experience)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background
  • Experience with alignment equipment
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis monitoring
  • The ability to become respirator certified
  • The ability to move materials weighing up to 40 pounds
  • The ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods
  • The ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and/or crawl
  • The ability to climb and work on ladders and scaffolding
  • Basic computer skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
