As a Semiconductor Product Engineer for the Module Development Group (MDG) in Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead PCB Design Teams designing hardware to ensure Micron is providing state of the art memory-based board-level products to the market.

In this position, you will be the engineer and project manager responsible for all aspects of producing a product from logical design through design package release and PCBA verification.

In addition, you will be required to design electrical solutions for architecture and power, capture logical design, select components, solve PCB design concerns, understand mechanical and thermal requirements, maintain documentation to meet ISO specifications, and serve as subject matter expert.

The group working environment is technically challenging, team-oriented, collaborative and customer-centric.

 

Responsibilities:

Within the larger MDG group, as a Senior Engineer at Micron, you will be responsible for

 1. PCB design - DIMM, Systems, Engineering, Interposers, Adapters

 2. Design and support power subsystems

 3. Document electrical designs in the form of Hardware Design Specifications

 4. Research, analysis and integration of new components into existing and new designs

 5. Use Cadence Allegro tools to capture logical and physical design

 6. Use Engineering Change Requests (ECR) to document changes during physical design process

 7. Design of impedance-controlled PCBs for signal integrity and regulatory compliance

 8. Follow defined processes and procedures

 9. Setting development schedule and accountability for success

 10. Coordinate PCBA build with planning and manufacturing

 11. Act as a central point of contact (internal and external) for technical and project questions

 12. Support internal/external customers as required

 13. Participate in internal technical, DFM/DFMEA, Continuous Improvement, Industry standard and other meetings as necessary

 

 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Bachelors or master’s in electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering w/8 years of industry experience
  • Desirable Previous experience being people leader
  • Expertise in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout or electrical package design techniques
  • Required experience with CAD tools - Allegro, Mentor
  • Basic understanding of electromagnetic and transmission line theory, general I/O design, signal integrity, differential and single-ended interface technologies
  • Basic SI/PI/EMI theory and application, modeling, analysis, simulation
  • Familiarity with, and fundamental understanding of lab measurement equipment like Oscilloscopes, TDR, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), etc.
  • Basic programming skill - Python, Perl, Verigy, C++, Excel macros, etc.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis (DOE) and equivalent tools (example: JMP) is also beneficial.
  • Desirable Memory industry experience
  • Ambitious candidate should enjoy leading and taking ownership of assigned projects, exhibit good written and verbal interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work well in a team with varied strengths.
