Procurement Cost Analyst

As a Global Procurement Cost Analyst (Quantity Surveyor experience), you will be responsible for collecting, reviewing and summarizing cost data related to multiple facilities projects. You will work in conjunction with other teams to benchmark costs across sites and regions build as a should-cost model for labor and materials. Duties will also include construction bid review and RFQ analysis. As part of your responsibilities, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing systems to improve cost data collection and analysis in order to expedite the decision-making process. You will build relationships across all areas of the company that will support your data collection, system development, and benchmarking process. Your data will provide cost analysis results to assist senior management in decision making.

Responsibilities:

Perform cost management activities for facilities (construction) projects

  • Validate bids (bid comparison forms), packages and change orders
  • Provide cost analysis of various projects and programs to assist senior management in decision-making
  • Support the planning, reviewing, and data collection to determine costs of business activity such as equipment, materials, subcontracts, and labor.
  • Conduct benchmarking exercise, market analysis

Collect and Maintain Construction Cost Data

  • Build and implement a central repository system for facilities cost data
  • Supervise equipment costs, material costs, GC fees, labor rates, etc. build reporting for regional comparison
  • Collect and analyze budget vs actual cost variation

Drive alignment in cost reporting

  • Build standard reports for facilities projects
  • Develop system and reporting for bid comparison and analysis, through various comparison tools with large volumes of data
  • Partner with Facilities Procurement team to incorporate benchmarking or market data into negotiation strategies

Organize and Facilitate Meetings

  • Prioritize and present data and market summaries to senior management and facilitate decision making
  • Schedule regular data and report reviews with category team and stakeholders to get feedback and identify future needs
  • Present and explain project/category data to the category team members, drive discussion and action items related to business direction

Experience:

  • 5+ years in Cost Management, Quantity Surveyor (QS) or general knowledge of construction methods
  • Cost analysis, with an emphasis on unit rate program (design take off, estimation, etc.)

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including leveraging an analytic toolset and financial targets to incorporate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and benchmarking concepts

Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Collaboration skills with peers in the global procurement category and facilities stakeholder teams
  • Able to work independently and with a cross-functional (multi-discipline) team
  • Proven relationship leadership skills, including to navigate the organization and influence decisions and the ability to be a persuasive advocate
  • Proven ability to lead without authority; Strength in Discernment, Planning, and Decision Making
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience as a change agent that seeks out and advocates new and innovative solutions to meet the business needs

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Operations, or Engineering with 3-5 yrs experience

Business analytics, metrics and reporting experience is preferred

Certifications in any analytical tools will be an added advantage

Experience

  • Min 5+ yrs of relevant experience mainly looking for Quantity surveyor experience and cost analyst
  • Proficient in Excel and other analytical tools for performing sophisticated analysis and presenting.
  • Comfort around Senior Leaders and Executives, ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations with streamlined and clear thoughts.
