Manager, QMS (Global Quality - QMO)

Job Description

As a Quality Management Systems (QMS) Manager in the Quality Management Office (QMO) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will sustain knowledge of QMS standards and Project Management standards, methods and tools; manage QMS processes and Performance to Plans; establish roadmaps, interact globally and advise with internal and external customers. In this management role, you will also provide regular performance feedback to team members, establish goals and development plans, provide opportunities to expand skills and promote career growth, and manage the overall performance and development of the team.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Manage QMS

  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness of the QMS and its processes through business process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance to standards and resolution of QMS issues at sites
  • Contribute to planning and review of QMS
  • Support sites QMS readiness for certification audit

Communicate with Global Internal and External Customers

  • Consult with department leadership on QMS Standards and initiatives
  • Promote awareness of QMS direction and status through global updates
  • Contribute to the promotion and awareness of customer requirements

Provide Technical Leadership and Support

  • Maintain knowledge of QMS standards, methods, and tools
  • Provide support to internal functions on the application, maintenance, and improvement of quality systems and department-specific processes
  • Deliver presentations and training courses related to QMS i.e: Site Process Steward Workshop and Risk Based Thinking Workshop

Develop Strategic QMS Visions

  • Establish and maintain roadmap per changing conditions
  • Partner with Micron sites/departments to develop vision and implement projects
  • Establish line-of-sight between future and current state
  • Lead integration of new processes at site and maintain knowledge of project management tools

Manage QMS Performance to Plan

  • Provide performance indices
  • Identify and report against metrics
  • Manage and resolve issues (obstacles)
  • Escalate issues as appropriate

Manage Staff, Workload, Budget, and Priorities

  • Develop and empower employees
  • Establish IPP Performance and Development goals
  • Conduct Performance Appraisals
  • Provide recognition and drive accountability
  • Resolve conflicts
  • Promote teamwork
  • Recruit, interview and select personnel



Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Related field of study



  • 3 years of experience in management or leadership position
  • 8 years or more QMS experience in design and development/ manufacturing/semiconductor or relevant industry

Additional Information:

Quality related field Certified auditor (ISO9001/IATF16949)


  • Technical knowledge on design and development process/environment
  • Knowledgeable in Business Process management and improvement Quality Management tools
  • Knowledgeable in ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 QMS Requirements
  • Ability to cross-collaborate with other teams
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • High degree of self-initiative and ability to think and act independently
  • Good multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work under tight timeframes and prioritize competing activities
  • Excellent organizational and management skills and outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • The ability and willingness to travel when required
  • English language is required
