Job Title – IT Manager – Technology Development

 

This leadership role is within the Engineering and Technology Development IT organization that develops and supports the IT systems powering Micron’s worldwide engineering teams.  This position leads our software engineering teams developing web applications and systems to improve Micron’s Technology Development Team along with Data Science and other technology development functions.  This team uses cutting edge technologies like Angular, Typescript, .NET core to power new and innovative ways for engineers to analyze Microns latest products.  In this leadership-by-example position, you will be expected to develop a high performing team that delivers high value portfolio of work, while working with senior management to help define the broader strategies required.   The ideal candidate will have the vision to translate business need into system capability while providing the leadership to see solutions through to delivery.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Provide expert architectural, functional and process guidance on approach and capabilities.
  • Partner with Data Science, PI and Manufacturing partners to understand capability needs and to develop efficient solutions.
  • Partner with architects to maintain a 3-year roadmap addressing capabilities to enable the TD, PI and Data Science strategic plans.
  • Develop and Manage a team of Software Engineers.
  • Work within cross-functional teams (Operations, QA, PMO, etc.) to drive successful deployments.

 

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Master’s degree a plus

Professional Experience Required

  • 12+ years of related IT experience. Strong understanding of web development

Professional Experience Preferred

  • Experience with Angular, Teradata, Hadoop, MongoDB, .NET

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, communication, consulting and influencing skills
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and define the process and consistency across teams.
  • Highly self-motivated and outcome oriented
  • Experience leading or mentoring other software engineers

 

 

Qualifications:

  • The capability to build high performing teams and develop team members
  • Experience in collaborating with team members to drive results 
  • Apply discretion and confidentiality to manage sensitive and complex issues
  • The ability to work independently with short deadlines
  • Problem solving skills. Shall be a driver
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
