Micron Technology is hiring BI Tool admins to be part of our IT Data Operations Team within the Enterprise Analytics and Data organization. As an IT BI Tool Operations Administrator at Micron Technology, you will work with customers to support the company’s operational, infrastructure, and project needs for analytics and reporting. You will plan, coordinate, and administer reporting server functions, documentation, upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and data protection. You will design, implement, and maintain analytics and reporting solutions with respect to quality, flexibility, cost, and capacity/performance, redundancy. You will capture domain knowledge of how to use reporting tools. You will be a primary systems administrator of one or more of the following: Tableau, Business Objects (BOBJ), Cognos, Information Steward and Microsoft reporting stack, in support of a large analytics and data warehousing community.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Provide L2 support for Enterprise BI Tools
  • Participate in design, architecture review and deployment of Data Warehouse data models and solutions.
  • Collaborate with business partners and other IT teams to ensure data solutions are available, recover from failures and operate healthy
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, escalations and resolve business partner issues in a timely manner with strong collaboration and care for business priorities.
  • Manage knowledge as it relates to Operations.
  • Own and drive post-mortem for critical issues

  • Own and support continue improvement plans for solution health and Operational health

  • Build critical insights to Operations team's performance and operate in a analytic driven operational environment

  • Work in a shift based rotational schedule

  • Ability to learn and use mutliple utilities and tools that help with Operations monitoring and alerting

  • Participate and learn new solutions through condensed knowledge transfer sessions

  • Qualifications and Experience

  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience in BI Tool administration and layered services
  • 0-3 years of experience in Windows/Linux administration.
  • 0-3 years of experience working with Tableau, Cognos, MS BI Stack etc.
  • Software Engineering background and experience a plus.
  • A passion for data and information with strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for 24x7 support.
  • Maintain support documentation, including: FAQs, Knowledge Articles, On-call Guides, Run Books, etc.
  • Preferred qualifications and experience
  • Monitor reporting infrastructure error logs and take necessary actions.
  • Restore, recover, and backup servers.
  • Provide reporting infrastructure installations and migrations.
  • Apply reporting infrastructure upgrades and patches.
  • Work directly with customers to resolve reporting infrastructure problems and promote good design and configuration of reports, dashboards and data sources.
  • Manage all aspects reporting server changes (schedule, communicate, impact assessment, etc.).
  • Provide support for reporting server access based on appropriate security for applications and end users.
  • Work with reporting and analytics vendors for technical support.
  • The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience working in ITIL based environment is expected
  • ITSM certification is a plus

    Education:
    B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related fields
