Director, TTC DRAM Process Integration

Micron’s Taiwan sites include sales and technical support in Taipei along with state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in Taichung and Taoyuan that together comprise the company’s DRAM Center of Perfection. The Center’s goal is to achieve the most efficient and effective technology transfer and manufacturing ramp by combining front- and back-end manufacturing, product engineering and technology development roles.

 

As the DRAM Process Integration(PI) Director for Micron’s Technology Center (TTC), a Technology Development organization based in Taiwan, we will be driving the DRAM New Product Introduction and early module integration introduction into a production-focus, manufacturing environment. This role will lead an organization consisting of module process integration, CMOS and access device engineering teams to drive DRAM integration solutions for key technology gaps to enable Micron’s next generation DRAM Technology deployment.

 

As an ideal candidate for this role, we expect this role to be responsible for building and training the PI and Device team and collaborating closely with TTC’s Process Development Engineering team to foster Technology Development approach including as well as manage early engagement training and technology transfer preparations. We will interact closely with other DRAM Development site leaders to collaborate development strategies and provide on-site support to drive various technology development projects. Also, we will partner closely with Micron’s Manufacturing teams to apply best in class methods to develop for manufacturability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, develop, and manage a team of process integration managers, module leads, and engineers.
  • Actively manage training, mentoring & performance appraisals for managers & engineers in the team
  • Align with Development teams in the US and Japan, and manufacturing teams from various sites to drive the direction for technology development support and generate transfer plans, as well as collaborate closely with the TTC process engineering and manufacturing leaders to align on the evaluation and execution plans.
  • Propose goals, map out key indicators and glide paths to enable achievement of technology advancement.
  • Own and set direction to drive key module innovations and cost reduction efforts as part of the Model of Record (MOR)
  • Develop the new technology node until mature manufacturing capability, driving critical program metrics
  • Build and prioritize projects/processes that support R&D objectives and improve the organization’s performance
  • Apply learning from prior nodes into future nodes and finally into manufacturing
  • Collaborate with manufacturing fabs and central teams to facilitate the successful transfer of new technology
  • Work effectively with other department leaders to drive company strategy and initiatives
  • Understand the impact and implications of R&D strategy to the overall business strategy and ensure alignment and strong execution
  • Maintain area procedures and training required to ensure legal compliance and conformance to a management system
  • Provide regular reporting including high level summaries and presentation for executive role up and communication to key partners

 

Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability in Semiconductor industry, particularly in DRAM; at least 10 years in R&D preferred
  • Deep understanding and knowledge on managing process integration modules or teams
  • Leadership in process integration in DRAM products, with multiple module integration experience or leadership experience
  • Project leadership experience including timeline and resource planning, and metrics definition and tracking
  • Deep knowledge of DRAM development and transfer experience with at least two technology nodes
  • A detailed knowledge of Micron's DRAM Product, process integration and good understanding of CMOS device characteristics is a must.
  • Strong structural integration skills, and proficient with the electrical understanding of DRAM operation including probe functional and margin bins, failure mechanisms and related failure analysis, lab characterization, and inline detection methods
  • Must possess a fundamental understanding of semiconductor devices and processes with a clear understanding of device scaling issues, device degradation and reliability mechanisms, and great understanding of electrical, physical and elemental analysis methods
  • Strong at solving sophisticated problems including experience with leading multi-functional task forces
  • Proficient in English including verbal and written, and strong presentation interpersonal skills
  • Mandarin fluency is highly preferred
  • Flexible with international travel, including short or long-term assignments as needed.
