Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Central Teams Alignment Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible to ensure manufacturing operations, culture, and standards are implemented through existing forums to drive BKM identification/vetting, deployment/execution, and sustaining/auditing through all levels of manufacturing organization

Your objective is to ensure implementation of network BKMs to the process area, alignment of the area to close transfer gaps to improve standardization and implementation and monitoring alignment of workstation BKMs from the area identified by TPM teams.  You will work with your area to become expert to coach BKM implementation and your counterpart Manufacturing Alignment engineers to audit execution of BKMs in your area.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

Network BKM Implementation and Standardization (from SEALs):

  • Implement 10-20 network BKMs selected for deployment every 6 months during FLT BKM council to achieve Big Rock Roadmaps by effectively implementing network BKMs
  • Become expert in network BKM requirements and expectations to improve quality of network BKM implementation at area level by coaching and training BKM deployment requirements to the area
  • Define area implementation plans with the Task Force Team Area Champion, Task Force Team lead, and Area leadership at site and hold team accountable to meeting implementation plans
  • Conduct real time assessment of how BKM deployments are progressing for your responsible process area and actively provide input to improve and optimize the BKM to the MCT BKM Coach
  • Manage your area(s) of responsibility to meet the expectations of BKM programs and business processes and adhere to the standards required by those programs and processes.
  • Perform 10-20 network BKM Audit/Assessments every 6-months for implemented BKMs
  • Analyze data, interview area team members, and report findings from audit and drive actions from Audit/Assessment to closure at each site within their process area
  • Report network BKM audit results/findings and closure of gaps from audits monthly. 
  • Identify and remove duplicate systems and procedures in conflict with the agreed upon BKM to improve the efficiency in the area
  • Performance will be judged by meeting BKM implementation timelines and successfully delivering standardization to achieve the value of the BKMs from the audits


Area Level Alignment (from TD):

  • Manage closure of copy smart exemptions identified during transfer to improve business processes by standardization area setup across the sites to ensure best methods sharing spans across all sites regardless of technology and/or site mission differences
  • Own TD Transfer Alignment gap closure projects across the network, will be closing 10-20 Area Level Alignment items per 6-month period
  • Work closely with CPEE counterparts to define technical path to closure (aligned direction)
  • Develop risk assessment and implementation plans at their site to assess requirements to implement aligned direction, build timelines to close prior to next technology transfer
  • Audit site status vs alignment direction for copy smart exemptions
  • Drive implementation plans (to schedule) at for their process area/point of operation
  • Report progress to closure to site leadership, TD, MCT
  • Performance will be judged by Area level transfer gap alignment closure to planned timelines


Drive TPM Core Team Workstation BKM Sharing:

  • Consolidate BKMs identified by TPM core teams monthly and provide to Area Steering Teams
  • Work with MCT TPM coordinator to assign to appropriate TPM Core teams
  • Attend TPM Core/Steering team meetings as needed to introduce BKMs from other sites for alignment and coach on implementation requirements
  • Track/Drive TPM core team network alignment to workstation BKMs
  • Work with MCT TPM coordinators to resolve misalignment and escalate to CPEE when network alignment decision needed.
  • Establish library of workstation level BKMs across the network that have been aligned
  • Performance will be judged by TPM workstation BKM alignment status (# aligned vs planned aligned)



  • Active coaching and leadership of projects. Ensure activities are well coordinated and productive.
  • Provide support and guidance for BKM implementation in your area(s) of responsibility.
  • Create strong morale and team spirit, shares wins and successes, foster open dialog, acknowledges team dynamics, builds on positive relationships and addresses negative ones.
  • Work with the Fab groups and the Central Team to maintain alignment in your area(s) of responsibility.



  • Attend area DAM meetings and update on daily plans for alignment activity to ensure coordination with daily operation priorities
  • Attend weekly Area Risk Assessment Control Board Meetings to provide input on change points and assess for opportunity for worldwide sharing
  • Report monthly to Area on status and progress for all alignment activity
  • Regularly maintain alignment on alignment activity direction with MCT Alignment Manager and Site Area manager
  • Maintain a strong and open relationship within your functional area and appropriate team members in other functional areas such as Process Integration Engineering, Quality Systems, Production Operations Management, and Purchasing.
  • Promote worldwide sharing and transfer of area-specific domain knowledge.
  • Communicate and respond to issues in a timely manner, with a cadence appropriate to the priority of the issue.
  • Keep stakeholders and team members informed of project status, progress, and roadblocks/opportunities.


Training and Development 

  • Keep up to date on current Fab manufacturing processing for both R and D and manufacturing.
  • Stay current with business practices at each site in your area(s) of responsibility.
  • Hold self and others accountable for meeting goals and action items from projects, meetings and conversations.
  • Set personal development and performance goals that are clear, measurable and in line with department and corporate goals.

  • Maintain knowledge of equipment and area materials safety concerns in area of focus


Requirements : 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in Fab (desirable)
  • In depth knowledge of Process and Equipment perspective. Area content knowledge with experience of area methods, systems, tools. Experience across multiple areas is a plus.
  • Good English skills and the ability to lead and coordinate area teams within their site desired
  • GJS : E2 & above
