As a Technology Development (TD) Supplier Development Manager (SDM) at Micron, you will be responsible for the development, alignment, and execution of long range Global Procurement strategies which enable the TD team to meet future technology requirements. You will be a member of the Global Procurement Capital Category team and will participate in global supplier relationships in support of Global Category strategies.


The Global TD Supplier Development Manager will lead the development and implementation of strategies related to Capital Equipmentand Materials that is the first of its kind. These strategies will focus on technology development and can include supplier sourcing and selection, supply base management, market analysis, forecast projections, supply chain risk assessment, technology and quality expectations, total cost of ownership parameters, and information transfer to the Capitaland Materials Category Teams.

 

The Global TD SDM will negotiate not-to-exceed total cost of ownership parameters which may include capital equipment or materials costs, operating costs models, materials consumption, and equipment productivity and performance requirements.

 

In this role, you will partner with Capital and Materials CategoryProcurement Teamslocated within Micron’s headquarters in the US, and at Micron’s other R&D locations, Micron Operations Central Team, and R&D Management teams to enable Micron to meet business plan requirements by optimizing cost structure, ensuring quality standards, and securing a reliable supply chain.
 
Role Responsibilities & Tasks
 
Supplier and Business Management 

  • Manage Global TD Supplier Relationships 
  • Partner with Engineering to communicate Technology Roadmap Requirements 
  • Interact with Micron and Supplier executives


New Supplier Sourcing and Selection 

  • Support Micron Supplier Qualification Process 
  • Assess Supply Chain Risk and Business Continuity Assessment 
  • Communicate Micron Supplier Quality Requirement Documentation 
  • Publish Financial and Legal Risk Profile for new Suppliers 
  • Sourcing in accordance with Micron Capital Category Strategies


Market Analysis 

  • Identify potential new Suppliers 
  • Monitor Supply & Demand Dynamics 
  • Disseminate Competitive Landscape information


Negotiations and Agreements 

  • Manage Procurement Strategies for new Materials or Equipment (creation, stakeholder input, communication, and execution)
  • Execute documentation (NDA, SOW, CDA, JDP 
  • Evaluate Agreements) in support of R&D development efforts 
  • Negotiate Total Cost of Ownership projections and commitments 
  • Utilize current supplier performance information to secure improvements for future performance
  • Provide input in to Global Supplier Strategies 
  • Coordinate with R&D, WWOPs and Procurement team members


Procurement Transfer Package 

  • Communicate Total Cost of Ownership projections and commitments 
  • Coordinate Forecast Projections for new Materials and Equipment 
  • Partner with Engineering to establish Equipment and Materials Specifications
  • Ensure two-way interaction with HVM GCM and OCT team members


Budget Management

  • Partner with Technology Development team located in Singapore to set and manage budgets
  • Align with TD Procurement Partners located at Micron’s headquarters and other R&D locations to develop strategies to successfully achieve budget
  • Track Supplier performance to budget and key investment in Technology Programs


Communication Liaison

  • Ensure effective communication between Procurement teams located in Singapore, Micron’s headquarters and other R&D locations is occurring.
  • Maintain and publish updates key TD programs and initiatives

 

Education     
           
Bachelor’s/Master's Degree or equivalent experience
• Business
• Business Administration/Management
• Engineering
• Supply Chain
• Related field of study         

 

Qualifications     
      
• 8 years’ experience in any of the following:
• Purchasing/Procurement
• Engineering
• Supply Chain
