Job Description
As a Global Facilities Technology I&C (Instruments & Controls) Lead at Micron Technology, Inc., you will serve as a discipline-specific technical expert and conduit of information for Facilities Site representatives. You will be responsible for providing technical information through Process of Records (PORs), Facilities of Records (FORs), benchmark research and communication, team networks, meetings, and websites. In this role, you will drive efficiencies for the Facilities team through capacity modeling, technical reviews, cost improvement analysis, and the promotion of FOR compliance. Additional responsibilities include, supporting business partners through quality, cost-saving, and environmental and safety related initiatives, as well as managing and maintaining business processes by establishing metrics and capability reporting to identify enhancement opportunities and creating process documentation.

 

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Serve as a Conduit of Information for all Facilities Site Representatives
  • Communicate benchmark results
  • Facilitate regular meetings
  • Maintain web-based information sites
  • Identify and share technical advancements
  • Represent the company externally according to Facilities discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Gas, Electrical, etc.)
  • Facilitate Facilities technology transfer from site to site according to Model of Record (MOR)
  • Share business initiative progress through the Facilities network
  • Serve as the technical expert according to Facilities discipline
  • Coordinate the development of Facilities of Record (FOR) standards
  • Provide site-specific technical discipline support
  • Stay abreast of latest Facilities technology industry trends and code requirements
  • Identify training needs and provide training support
  • Drive Efficiencies and Best Known Methods (BKMs)
  • Create, implement, and maintain FOR compliance (Construction, Design, Operations, and Maintenance)
  • Identify, investigate, and document root cause, lessons learned, and recommendations from Facilities events affecting manufacturing
  • Develop and maintain Facilities capacity modeling
  • Benchmark internal and external processes and technologies
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose Facilities capital assets
  • Perform technical reviews of site capital projects
  • Identify cost effective design improvements
  • Support Internal and External Business Partner Initiatives
  • Review, coordinate and communicate Global Facilities cost reduction initiatives
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and document the deployment of quality systems (TPM, SPC, etc.)
  • Assist Corporate EHSS as a subject matter expert for facilities-related environmental and safety events
  • Review and provide input for Corporate EHSS requirements

 

Manage and Maintain Business Processes

  • Manage business process enhancement projects
  • Develop and maintain business process metrics
  • Develop and maintain reporting capability
  • Communicate program status to key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain business process documentation

 

Education: 

Bachelors Degree

  • Controls Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Related Field of Study

 

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Controls Engineering preferably in Facilities Engineering or Semiconductor
  • Japanese language proficiency is must
  • Considerable knowledge of Instrument & Controls technology and methods
  • Considerable knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, Instrumentation and SCADA Systems
  • Considerable knowledge of industrial networks such as Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP, and others.
  • Familiarity with other Low voltage systems such as Security, CCTV, Public Address and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Demonstrated Control System design experience
  • Considerable knowledge of SCADA Systems Integration preferably with Wonderware System Platform and Siemens PLC’s experiences.
