As a Global Facilities Cost Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact to drive the alignment and benchmarking of Facilities operation cost categories across Micron’s Global Facilities Network. You will be responsible to all aspect of financial analysis, planning and reporting on Facilities operating expenses and quarterly business planning.  Your role will also include the definition and establishing a world class Facilities cost culture, through optimization and management of cost programs such as Facilities Cost Reduction, Cost PAC, Monthly Operation Cost reviews, and measurement of performance through appropriate metrics.

 

You will need to be actively engage with both Global and local Site Procurement, Cost Seal and Reduction Teams, Finance teams, and other cross functional business partners to develop the most effective strategies for Facilities network to achieve Micron Global cost efficiency goals and business plan.

 

You will also be a key financial resource to support Global and Site Facilities in Facilities cost optimization.

 

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Facilities Cost Program Advisory Council (PAC) programs to drive continuous cost improvements to be Best-in-Class. Representing Facilities Network in the Cost Seal monthly reviews with Manufacturing Central Teams (MCT).
  • Collaborate with MCT to implement the latest sharing platform (GAPS) to effectively share and implement Cost Reduction opportunities.
  • Support the development of Facilities Zero Based Analysis (ZBA) cost programs.
  • Drive the alignment of Faciliities cost structure but not limited to cost definitions, categorization and classification to identify gaps and continuous improvement opportunities for effective budgeting across Micron Manufacturing Networks.   
  • Develop Facilities cost database into a “one-stop” platform that enable financial analysis and generating benchmarking reports to identify cost optimization opportunities  in alignment with Micron’s strategic directions.
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement to identify the top spending categories and grouping common scopes to drive cost reduction efforts through alternate supplier sourcing, contracture negotiations and price leverage through bulk consumption.
  • Setup Business Process and Decision Analysis (DA) matrix in partnership with Global Procurement Team to identify the best supplier with the most competitive cost models and meeting Micron’s Facilities requirements.   
  • Lead the development and implementation of cost projects and programs defined from the alignment and benchmarking activities.
  • Support continuous improvement in Operation Expense Budget Management across the Facilities Network by establishing a strong financial understanding and alignment with Micron’s Business and Strategic directions, and providing timely and insightful financial support, data, analysis and benchmarking information for Sites.

 

Successful Candidate will need to have the following experience and capabilities:

 

  • Good understanding of Micron’s Finance and Facilities cost operations and processes (preferable with fundamental knowledge of Facilities operations/engineering, energy efficiency and cost model, Cost Centers, GL codes and accounts, etc.)
  • Familiarity and able to navigate cost information system applications such as GAPS, COGNOS, TM1, SAP, MICAP and MAXIMO.
  • Demonstrate Project Management capability to manage and move cost projects effectively through the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent PC skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook as the candidate will need to manage and analyze a significant amount of data and provide a concise summary. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize and facilitate meetings.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Demonstrate high level integrity in managing sensitive data.

Education

Bachelors Degree specialized in Engineering, Business, or Finance or equivalent experience

 

Experience

5 years experience in any of the following:

  • Procurement
  • Finance
  • Cost Control
  • Project Management
