As an Emerging Memory Media Optimization Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for exploring problems related to reliable and efficient storage and retrieval of information from Micron emerging memory technologies in systems! You will research various topics from application software, computer architecture, media management, and systems integration of emerging memory. Your research will help to set the direction of future applications, systems, and emerging memories!
Responsibilities Will Include
- Work with technologists to develop an understanding of the characteristics of Micron emerging memory
- Identify methods by which emerging memories can be optimized and run within system constraints
- Understand typical systems and applications in which each emerging memory technology may make valuable contributions
- Perform analysis to demonstrate the customer perceivable value of these methods to reliability and/or performance
- Push the limits of conventional memory systems
Individual Qualifications
- Experience with computer architecture and performance analysis
- Experience in embedded hardware and/or software engineering
- Experience with modeling of memory and/or storage subsystem performance and/or reliability
- Familiar with embedded, computer and mobile system architectures
- Proficiency in programming assembly, firmware, operating system software or application software on systems ranging from mobile to server platforms
- Ability to quickly analyze and understand complex software or hardware codebases
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills and explore unfamiliar concepts
Education
- This position requires enrollment in an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Prior research experience is a plus.
- Must be continuing education in Fall of 2020 (Expected graduation date must not be before September 1st 2020).
- This internship will be for the Spring/Summer of 2020.
