The Director of Pricing in our Embedded Business Unit (EBU) is responsible for driving the development and execution of price strategy for EBU worldwide industrial, medical, military, consumer, and distribution markets and is accountable for price and margin optimization in support of EBU and corporate financial objectives.


In this role, you will lead a global team of skilled pricing analysts. Your extensive leadership and communication skills will influence internal stakeholders, customers, and senior management regarding pricing strategy and related decisions across the organization. You will collaborate with product marketing, business development, sales, finance, strategic planning, and business operations. You will explore and introduce new and creative avenues of data utilization to support strategies that help the business grow efficiently, effectively, and profitably.


Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with the product, segment marketing, and business development to set and maintain pricing strategies that support go to market and financial objectives
  • Establish and maintain EBU price guidelines including distributor book cost (DBC), and corporate sales floors
  • Ensure timely and competitive response to customer request for quote (RFQ) through corporate pricing systems
  • Manage and facilitate executive-level price escalations as needed for deals below established price guidelines
  • Partner with account teams to negotiate quarterly, semi-annual, and annual contracts for direct OEM accounts
  • Partner with strategic planning to set our long-range price plan and ensure alignment with the tactical horizon in support of the quarterly business planning process
  • Work collaboratively with Compute and Networking BU (CNBU), Mobile BU (MBU), Storage BU (SBU) pricing teams, and the corporate pricing team to align on strategies, quarterly price targets, contract negotiation tactics
  • Support Micron’s monthly Executive Price Review (EPR)
  • Maintain EBU pricing dashboard and drive appropriate corrective actions for areas below target
  • Develop highly capable pricing team members through coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities
  • Foster process sharing and continuous improvement efforts within the EBU pricing team and corporate-wide


Qualifications, Experience, and Education:

  • A senior leader with the ability to influence senior management in driving business decisions using solid data and analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Marketing, or Statistics
  • MBA or Master’s degree is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience successfully managing and leading pricing teams.
  • Strong people leader with subject matter expertise and the ability to recruit, mentor and retain a highly functional staff
  • Deep knowledge of EBU market segments
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills, a team-focused attitude, and a clear focus on team business objectives
