VP, Corporate and Business Unit Finance

As the Vice President of Corporate and Business Unit Finance at Micron, you will serve as a key member of the financial leadership, reporting directly to the CFO. This position is responsible for setting the strategy and execution of the financial reporting and planning organization and partnering with the Chief Business Office to provide support with strategic direction and initiatives. You will lead and participate in all aspects of the corporate financial decision-making process in business unit and executive meetings. This role will need to develop a keen understanding of the key performance drivers across the business segments as well as Corporate and Operations and deliver insightful, valuable analysis to the CFO, Executive Team and Board of Directors. This position plays a key role in setting company-wide financial targets and measuring key performance indicators as well as developing capital allocation strategies.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:


  • Support Micron’s CEO/President and other C-Suite executives in the creation of annual business plans
  • Lead financial planning and analysis including forecasting, reporting and analysis of revenue for the company, ensuring budgets are collaboratively developed, communicated and met/exceeded
  • Evaluate company portfolios and develop strategies to maximize enterprise value by helping to set targets and develop the company-wide capital allocation strategy
  • Responsible for development and tracking of company-wide critical metrics
  • Partner with the leaders within the Business Unit, Supply Chain and Sales organizations to identify, assess and present critical initiatives; provide timely and insightful analysis and financial modeling to drive value-creating business decisions
  • Continually drive alignment and control into the capital investment and spending process
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, pension funds and investments and/or other issues affecting the business
  • Serve as the management liaison to the Finance Committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings
  • Responsible for handling financial communications with the Executive Team including weekly flash, monthly performance, annual plan, long-term plan, acquisition models, etc.
  • Establish clear return on investment metrics for major business expenditures, advising on economic and strategic benefits
  • Develop and utilize complex financial models and data-focused deep dive analyses to provide insight into operations and business performance
  • Provide investor relations support for the CEO, CFO and VP of Investor Relations



  • Collaborate with Finance leaders and subject matter authorities worldwide to provide consistent analysis and holistic view business decision-making
  • Lead Finance transformation activities
  • Strategically assess all financial systems and work with the IT organization on developing and implementing a long-term strategic plan
  • Build positive relationships across the finance and accounting teams, with functional leaders across the organization and collaborate with internal and external partners to understand the business’ current state and develop data-driven insights that can be understood and implemented to drive company-wide goals and strategic directions



  • Sets the strategic vision and direction for the FP&A and Business Unit Finance organizations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Finance teams supporting the Business Units, Supply Chain and Sales organizations with critical initiatives, operations analysis, FP&A, costing, etc.
  • Plan, develop, organize, and lead all aspects of financial planning for Business Unit ensuring alignment with Micron’s strategic direction
  • Develop and promote key finance talent fostering a positive team environment


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working in large, globally diverse, publicly traded companies engaged in highly competitive and rapidly changing market dynamics
  • Solid financial and business insight skills for a large manufacturing company
  • Record of successfully implementing strategic, tactical, and operational plans
  • Confirmed ability to earn the confidence and trust of the business leaders and to be viewed as a strategic business partner not just a financial functional authority
  • Extensive practical knowledge and experience in all areas of finance including accounting, financial planning and analysis communication methods
  • Demonstrated success in leading a distributed team and ability to drive the Company's overall strategic direction through financial analysis
  • Previous experience leading directly/indirectly global and cross-functional work teams
  • Developed leadership skills in complex, high-energy, fluid environments
  • Deep understanding of competitive dynamics and strategies of key industry players, technical and other differentiated capabilities required to win in the marketplace
  • Ability to motivate, drive and inspire change
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful working relationships
  • 10 – 15 years’ experience in a relevant industry
  • Bachelor’s degree required in the field of Business Administration, Finance, Accounting


Preferred Skills:

  • 10 – 15 years’ experience in the following areas: semiconductor industry
  • Master’s degree in the field of Business Administration/ Management, Finance, or related field
  • Engineering/Science-related educational background a plus
