As a Strategic Deal Support Manager in the Strategic Pricing organization at Micron Technology Inc., you will be responsible for data and analytics insights that help inform and craft our negotiation strategies at some of our largest customers. In this role you will assist in contract negotiations and the establishment of long-term agreements that maximize profit and revenue opportunities. As such, the ideal candidate will be someone that views themselves as a business person and uses a strategic perspective to inform account conversations to maximize Micron’s corporate objectives. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Development.

The ideal candidate will have experience preparing for strategic business negotiations with the necessary business intelligence skill set. The role will help teams and functions evaluate each deal from multiple perspectives & requires the candidate to prepare materials that assist in identifying trends, anomalies, or other points of interest relevant to the specific account and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with customer negotiations from both a functional, technical and commercial perspective
  • Maintain and provide integrative, long-term, full-Micron perspective to inform account conversations and account strategy
  • Collect and disseminate best practices for important Moments of Truth across each account
  • Help teams and functions evaluate each deal from multiple perspectives (e.g., contract, value factors, and price)
  • Work with appropriate business leads (e.g. BU Pricing, BU marketing) to set and prep negotiation strategy and talking points for account conversations
  • Gather and analyze structured and unstructured data from various internal and external sources (e.g. analyst reports, trip reports, pricing trends, demand / supply trends)
  • Use appropriate statistical methods and direct analyses to harness relevant insights for different accounts and conversations
  • Communicate insights to appropriate business leads (e.g. Account teams, BUs)
  • Identify and track relevant metrics of success to deliver regular performance updates to internal stakeholders
  • Communicate and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders (sales, pricing, marketing, and internal executives).
  • Engage with various teams within Micron to formulate a “Micron View” of the market.

Key Tasks:

  • Present market intelligence reports to sales and pricing teams that synthesizes both quantitative and qualitative insights
  • Facilitate negotiation strategy sessions to drive better outcomes for Micron
  • Monitor, track, and drive Micron’s Long-Term Agreement (LTA) initiative at your assigned accounts
  • Support Quarterly business review sessions with relevant data, information and insight
  • Deliver relevant and actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations to enable SDS conversations
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of SDS processes and business negotiation strategies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of a BA or BS with strong academic performance. MBA is desirable.
  • 7+ years of experience is Business Development, Sales, Pricing, or Strategic Marketing
  • Semiconductor industry experience a plus & a candidate with prior experience in similar roles would be preferred
  • Accomplished presenter of sales and technical material to both small and large groups
  • Prior experience with negotiating contracts and legal agreements
  • Great at execution: results-driven, detail-oriented, organized self-starter
  • Creative and critical thinker with strong analytical and financial skills
  • Energized by high profile / high impact tasks and assignments
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence the larger organization
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce.com, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multitasking with minimal supervision
  • Broad thinking that can look holistically across orgs/data to come up with implications
