As a System Reliability Software Engineer at Micron you will be Design, develop, test, and release Software related to the strategy around the reliability of non-volatile-memory components and system products. Responsibilities include, developing intelligent software methodologies for reliability Qual methods for new Micron products and technologies, ensuring existing methodologies are kept up to date with changes in technology, reliability model development, statistical methods definition, driving new reliability strategies, acting as an internal and external domain expert and performing field risk assessments. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, have a desire to learn new things and be able to work collaboratively with only moderate direction.

 Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, test, and release software related to the System reliability Qual/Test software architecture
  • Design and build various support, maintenance, and metrics gathering utilities. Gathering and analyzing data to support Qual Data automation and customer teams
  • Design and Develop advanced data Analytics tools to be used by various groups and levels of management
  • Help develop new Software Tools supporting System Reliability models and simulations for product reliability.
  • Work side by side with component engineers to help define component reliability requirements as they relate to system applications.
  • Develop cross function processes to improve reliability and quality of products using Software.
  • Design/Develop and Assimilate Machine Learning Data Science learnings into the software to show the analytics using AI models.

 Qualifications

  • The ability to effectively interact with a wide range of Teams and personalities.
  • The ability and willingness to travel when required.
  • A strong background in Science and Engineering
  • Interests in math, statistics and reliability is a plus.
  • Programming skills in Python, R is preferred
  • Programming skills in PySpark, Java, Node.io, C++ will be acceptable
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning(supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised), Data Science (statistical modeling, feature extraction and analysis) and AI tools/methods is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with basic semiconductor processing, device physics, quality reliability fundamentals, customer experience, and storage industry.
  • Prior experience in device and/or quality and reliability.
  • Experience with managing Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Collaborator, Jenkins, Artifactory or similar tools
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience supporting Java-based enterprise applications
  • Experience with system management; Linux and Windows
  • Experience with Big enterprise class database management platforms
  • Experience in Data Modeling / Data Warehouses is desirable
  • Experience in Data ETL tools are desirable
  • Experience working with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL) is desirable
  • Experience with data visualization tools (R, JMP, Tableau, Business Objects, SSRS) is desirable
  • Experience with MPP data platforms (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HBASE Teradata) a plus
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB) a plus
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

 -  Education:

-  Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience. Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar, or equivalent experience.

-  Advanced degrees (MS or Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
