As a NAND Process Integration Engineer you will take ownership of one or more process modules related to the development and operation of a semiconductor integrated circuit. This requires understanding of structural requirements, electrical performance, and process control mechanisms. Successful candidates must be proactive in identifying potential issues and addressing them early. Patent disclosures are expected on a regular basis.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide team leadership in all module development areas.
  • Work effectively with Process Engineers, Layout, Design, Device Simulation, Probe, EFA, PFA, and Product Engineering resources.
  • Procure wafer resources for Module development.
  • Learn Yield and Parametric Outputs that are directly related to your module. Provide regular reports on critical metrics.
  • Set a clear direction and vision for the module and provide a path for continual improvement in the module.
  • Understand overall flow. Provide regular inputs and feedback to team regarding upstream and downstream impacts to your module.
  • Understand and read technical literature and apply to your own research projects within your module.
  • Work with Planning and Process Groups to provide Cost and Manufacturability vs. Quality assessments and optimization for process options.
  • Carefully organize and coordinate all SWR and Conversion activities to enable the project to proceed in a rapid, error free manner.
  • Includes: SWRS, Reticle Layout and build, Process Traveler revisions, Line conversions, complex rules for automation, yield tracking and reporting.
  • Collect and analyze critical data during experimental processing.
  • Request any standard and additional tests when working with YE/PE to evaluate and improve the process and product based on data analysis.
  • Develop expertise in parametric tests, probe flow, circuit operation, etc.
  • Analyze experiments, translate failures into root cause and drive conclusions to improve yield and reliability problems.
  • Analyze materials electrically, physically, etc. and work with process groups, etc. to select new materials and directions for development.
  • Drive the material changes from research into production.
  • Make key decisions for the team, as well as provide clear direction, goals and metrics for success of the team.
  • Establish clear and strong lines of communication allowing a quick response to customer requirements.
  • Communicate key information via presentations and group discussion and drive informed decisions through management, peers and direct reports
  • Prepare documentation and communication to Manufacturing Engineers for the transfer of a Technology from R&D to Manufacturing.
  • Identify and promptly report hazards.
  • Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety.
  • Operate and maintain equipment and tools where needed within manufacturer’s and company guidelines
  • Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner

 

Qualifications:

  • Understand scaling issues and have the insight to provide future direction.
  • Understand design rules, OPC, database, layout, etc. and be able to inspect layout, fractured data for errors.
  • Understand and utilize Design of experiments, surface response models, etc.
  • Interest in continually growing technical and management skills and want to pursue continued education via training.
  • You have a demonstrated work ethic and are highly motivated

 

Education:

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics or a BS with 5+ years of experience
