Senior Member of Technical Staff, NAND

NAND Innovation Team is chartered with envisioning, creating, developing and deploying innovative solutions to the most difficult problems faced by non-volatile memory systems today and in the future. Using a relatively small, very select group of technical contributors with expertise that ranges all the way from Si to system, the focus is on multi-functional solutions utilizing vertical integration. The team is led by only one of four Senior Fellows at Micron. You will report to a NAND Fellow who leads NAND component innovations under the Technology Pathfinding organization. This is a unique role for a very creative, forward-thinking, and highly skilled memory design engineer.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Innovate new solutions to complex multi-disciplinary problems by collaborating with other team members with skill sets ranging from Si to system
  • Propose and evaluate new NAND design and architecture concepts to overcome NAND scaling challenges for cost, performance, power and reliability compared to today’s state of the art
  • Propose and develop new NAND operation conditions and algorithms and evaluate pros and cons for the proposals
  • Be a point of contact to represent design team in the multi-functional team, coordinate the design related works with other design area authorities
  • Exercise leadership skills by demonstrating the ability to drive complex and inventive projects from idea conception through evaluation and implementation
  • Work closely with teams focused on execution to deploy developed projects with high quality and minimized time to market
  • Educate and mentor other technical contributors within the organization to raise their level of technical expertise

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (or a related field) and 10-15 years of circuit design experience
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit simulators such as hspice, hsim/finesim, fast SPICE and Verilog
  • Knowledge of digital design using RTL
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of non-volatile memory systems
  • Good understanding of NAND layout principles and interconnect architectures
  • Basic understanding of NAND memory device physics for cell, and CMOS circuits
  • Strong leadership skills and multi-functional teamwork
  • Proactive and significant problem-solving skills
  • Technical expertise in multiple subject areas within circuit design including analog design, high speed data path design, logic design and/or memory array row and column path circuit design
  • Proven track record of innovative solutions taken from conception through implementation as demonstrated by patent portfolio, technical literature and conference publications or other means
  • Articulate vision for new concepts through excellent documentation and presentation skills
  • Leadership skills to encourage, motivate and drive peer contributors with varied skill sets towards a common goal
  • Successful partnerships with internal and external domain authorities, advancing product development outcomes and setting the direction for future system products
