Senior Manager, Outsourced Labor

As Senior Manager of Outsourced Labor at Micron Technology, Inc., you will lead a team that administers Micron’s global outsourced labor program, covering all Micron contractors ranging from temporary time & material contractors, SOW contractors tied to specific deliverables, fixed service contractors, to independent contractors and small consultancies. In this position, you will lead a team that establishes new contractor management systems and processes and otherwise improves and modernizes Micron’s contractor management.


Significant experience and understanding of the strategy and governance of contractor administration at a large company will be key to success in position. We are seeking a candidate who has experience in implementing and overseeing a vendor management system (VMS) and a managed service provider (MSP) relationship at a large company, and who has the strategic vision to help Micron redesign and modernize its outsourced labor practices and governance. This candidate will manage the team that builds and implements the systems and processes for Micron’s outsourced labor program and runs it going forward.


Key Skills and Experience

  • Experience overseeing an outsourced labor program at a large company;
  • Experience leading a successful team;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to contractor administration and governance;
  • Leadership experience overseeing the establishment of a VMS system;
  • Experience onboarding a new MSP relationship;
  • Ability to set strategy over outsourced labor management and implement policies and practices that are designed to achieve those strategic objectives;
  • Experience designing policies and processes for contractor compliance, onboarding, and efficient transactions;
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to influence and persuade across departments in a large organization;
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire and develop a team as a manager;
  • Track record of driving and developing key performance measure/metrics and monitoring performance against these targets;
  • Executive presence to advise and influence senior executives on strategic decisions related to the management of outsourced labor.


Other Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Business Administration/ Management, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar fields of study
  • Candidate with prior experience in similar roles
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multitasking with minimal supervision
