Senior Manager, Global Environmental Health and Safety

As the Global Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of global EHS and sustainability initiatives and practices targeted at improving safety and environmental performance for Micron Technology, Inc., California operations. You will partner with various stakeholders, focusing to develop cross-functional solutions for our California offices. This includes workplace, datacenter and engineering labs. This position has the potential to grow into a broader role supporting all North American sites.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and education of strategic initiatives targeted at improving environmental and safety culture and compliance
  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs and policies
  • Identify hazards, assess risk and implement programs and processes to mitigate risks
  • Perform compliance audits and support implementation of follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations and Micron standards
  • Respond to emergencies, investigate incidents and provide and track corrective action
  • Resolve compliance matters, including use of required data and reporting
  • Analyze data make appropriate recommendations to prevent new or recurring incidents
  • Assure accuracy of reports, permits and records for compliance with country, state, and local regulations
  • Provide leadership by influencing local Site leadership and Facilities team
  • Serve as EHS technical advisor on projects, planning and operations
  • Accept other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional organizations to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements
  • Extensive experience with hazard assessment, data analysis root cause investigation
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with California and US environmental & safety regulations
  • Strong technical expertise in EHS program management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in independently completing and tracking complex tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • The ability to read and develop a solid understanding and interpretation of regulations is required
  • You will have shown ability to influence, supervise, and lead others to solve complex issues
  • The ability to adjust quickly to changes in priorities and program strategies to meet the needs of the company and other customers.

 

Education Required:

Minimum of a B.S. degree in Environmental, Occupational Safety, Engineering or another relevant degree

 

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience including demonstrated experience with environment and safety regulation implementation,
  • The ability to read and develop a solid understanding and interpretation of regulations is required
  • Working in an R&D environment preferred
  • An understanding of materials, equipment and processes in electronics test and R&D, and associated EHS risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with US and California environmental and safety regulations
  • Work experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 and/or OHSAS 18001 a plus.
