Senior Manager, Client SSD Technical Customer Management

The Senior Manager will lead a team that provides a world-class customer qualification experience for Micron’s portfolio of Client SSDs. As a Senior Manager in Micron’s Storage Business Unit (SBU) you will be chartered with leading the SBU’s client-focused Customer Qualification Team made up of Technical Customer Managers and Applications Engineers by ensuring excellence in customer qualification planning, execution, and support of the company’s target customer base.

You and your team will excel in being the primary qualification interface between the customer and engineering/design centers, while developing a long-term relationship with the customer. The team will support streamlined communication and qualification efforts that facilitate products being qualified with maximum efficiency. You will proactively define customer qualification requirements and processes to shape a qualification plan that ensures success.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Act as the focal point within Micron for Client SSD customer qualification status and reporting to executive management, sales, and development teams
  • Manage the qualification of new product introductions (NPI) at targeted customers and their OEM/ODM partners
  • Build trusting customer relationships to ensure all specification, test, documentation, and sample requirements meet customer expectations
  • Handling customer concerns by driving priorities on issue resolution, closure, and corrective action
  • Contribute technical and business input in support of the product team’s business cases
  • Drive customer change management process and resolution with Micron design teams
  • Support the customer account team strategy throughout the life of the qualified program, including post-release qualification support
  • Performance Management, mentoring, training, prioritization, and approvals for the team

 

Education:

  • BS or BA degree in a technical discipline

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of storage or related high-tech experience including interaction with sales, customers, engineers and product development teams
  • Minimum 2 years of Client customer experience
  • Requires knowledge of OEM product qualification processes and a broad-based understanding of the storage industry
  • Ability to relay technical information to and from the customer verbally and in writing professionally
  • Demonstrated project management skills, executive presentation abilities, and customer relationship management experience
  • A strong, ambitious personality who can work as an advocate for the customer within the company
  • Shown team leadership ability
  • Demonstrated business acuity in order to understand and communicate customer impacts and trade offs
  • Ability / flexibility to travel domestically and internationally with short notice
