Senior Financial Accountant I

As a Sr. Financial Accountant at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of various payroll-related and general / service expense accruals into the General Ledger and assist in the accounting and reconciliation of intercompany activity between Micron subsidiaries.  In this position you will prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, prepare and review journal entries, review legal agreements, and perform monthly and quarterly fluctuation analysis which will include researching, identifying, and documenting variance justifications.  Additional responsibilities include providing data to internal “customers”, management, and auditors, providing consultation and training to customers, mentoring members of your team, leading aspects of ad hoc projects, maintaining knowledge of policies and regulatory compliance regulations, and presenting information to finance management. 


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Analyze and review data to figure out appropriate balances and activity
  • Collect data from financial systems and prepare journal entries
  • Perform and validate monthly account reconciliations
  • Review legal agreements
  • Maintain expertise of internal policies and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Provide training to internal customers and peers
  • Communicate with business partners and finance analysts


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Results oriented
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and detail oriented, with a strong focus on accuracry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to act and oprerate independently and minimal supervision / direction
  • Exceptional customer satisfaction and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines in a rapidly changing environment
  • Works well under strict deadlines in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years experience in Accounting or Finance


Preferred Skills:

  • SAP experience
