Sr Semiconductor Process Development Engineer

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Research and define potential methods to achieve films capable of being used for 3D semiconductor architectures.
  • Define chemistry, process, hardware and related methods to achieve proposed outcomes consistent with structural and electrical requirements.
  • Work closely with integration and device collaborators to maintain alignment of structural and electrical requirements.
  • Drive equipment planning, equipment selection and configuration with suppliers and internal collaborators.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs.
  • Technology scanning, identification and selection criteria driver.
  • Knowledgeable in ALD and CVD chemistry and hardware capability to create films with properties to meeting structural and component device performance requirements.
  • Solid understanding in methods to deliver precursors to substrates of various 3D arrangements. These should include plasma, molecular, atomic layer deposition, catalytic and selective approaches.
  • Surface science with focus on bonding and film propagation.


Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering or other related technical engineering or science field.
  • Greater than 5 years experience in a senior level role developing process technology.
  • A passion for unit process development.
  • Proven history of technical project management with a clear set of deliverables.
  • Outstanding experimental planning skill.
  • Exceptional communication, user documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Innovative and self-motivated personality, with attention to detail.
  • A solid understanding of Fab processes and semiconductor device theory.
  • Working computer and software knowledge that can be applied to documentation, analysis and troubleshooting.


Outstanding candidates will also have:

  • Experience/understanding in surface science/chemistry as it applies to ALD and area selective deposition.
  • Personal use of modeling techniques is a plus and collaborative understanding of how modeling helps to accelerate pathfinding is helpful.
