Senior Accountant II - Fixed Assets

If you are a specialist in fixed asset accounting, have exceptionally strong SAP skills we have an exciting opportunity for you.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Fixed Assets Subject Matter Expert (SME) and SAP super user role
  • Assist the Sr. Manager, WW BPO- Fixed Assets with the oversight of the Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) on tasks/responsibilities that have been transitioned to the BPO
  • Assist BPO Fixed Asset staff with guidance on policies, procedures, controls, problem solving, and research
  • Review and ensure the data integrity of the Fixed Asset database as BPO staff process transactions for accounting, tax, and statutory books
  • Prepare various period end journal entries and reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist in compiling and overseeing fiscal month-end and quarter end processes including but not limited to: journal entries, accounting reconciliations, and creation of quarterly schedules for PwC.
  • Support the creation and oversight of monthly and quarterly schedules for Corporate Accounting and external auditors (PwC)
  • Coordinate and connect with Fixed Asset counterparts at various Micron sites & BPO regarding policy and procedures
  • Provide analysis and input on the effect of various accounting policies and potential changes
  • Coordinate and Collaborate within Accounting on revised/new Accounting Standards impacting PP&E including documenting and communicating transactional impacts to BPO (i.e. Lease Accounting Standards, Accounting for Cloud Computing Arrangements, et. al)
  • Coordination and completion of various ad hoc reporting requests from Management, Legal, and other Business Partners related to PP&E including government surveys
  • Participation with other Business Areas on projects that will impact PP&E related systems including MICAP, Maximo, SAP, etc.
  • Assist management with monitoring risks and controls in Fixed Assets as documented for Sarbanes Oxley and ensuring performance of legal entity controls.
  • Actively support and interact with Procurement to insure positive relationships are maintained both internally and with external vendors
  • Maintain open and active communications with Receiving, Facilities, Tax, and Treasury Departments

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong information systems knowledge
  • Strong sense of team work and leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior Fixed Assets Experience is required
