Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage effective cross-team management of program, value-stream and team objectives
  • Lead teams through the full Scrum lifecycle, including backlog creation, user stories, as well as facilitate daily scrums, sprint reviews, demos, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Remove impediments across Scrum teams by finding the right personnel to remove blocks
  • Guide and coach Scrum teams on how to best use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver high-quality software
  • Track organizational metrics for teams, including burndowns, velocity and capacity, used to better facilitate team’

 

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrate leadership in Product Owner and Scrum Master communities of practice while contributing meaningfully to the overall maturity of the organizational deployment of the roles
  • Assess the Agile maturity of the team/organization and coach to higher levels of maturity
  • Assist with communication of team progress internally and externally, improve transparency to the business and organization gaining overall business trust
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on team problem solving and success

 

Experience:

  • Experience acting as Scrum Master of software development teams.
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge
  • Team facilitation

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Agile certification in Scrum Master, Agile, Product Ownership preferred

 

Skills:

  • Core Agile and Scrum software development methodologies, values, and principles
      • Understanding of DevOps, automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery preferred
  • Growth mindset
  • Situational awareness, conflict resolution
  • Continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency
  • Coaching and mentoring team members on best use of Agile/Scrum practices
  • Self-motivated and enjoys solving problems

 

Ability to:

  • Facilitate teams as Scrum Master concurrently, guide, coach, and empower scrum teams to self-organize
  • Recognize conflict, facilitate discussion and facilitate alternatives or different approaches that promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation
  • Encourage a sustainable pace that consistently produces high-quality deliverables
