As a Solid State Drive (SSD) System Architecture Senior Modeling Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will build and lead development of high-performance SSD models for innovative non-volatile memory systems. You will work closely with expert system, firmware, hardware, NAND, test and product engineers to solve leading edge cross-functional technology and product development problems.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Participate as a team member and work developing algorithms and modeling solutions for complex system problems
  • Providing technical leadership for small cross-functional modeling teams
  • Developing new simulation tools, infrastructure and performance metrics analysis
  • Evangelizing developed solutions supported by modeled results analysis
  • Numerically analyzing problems and solutions, and publishing analyses results
  • Performing behavioral, numerical and detailed temporal analysis of advanced architectures
  • Working with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and optimize new ideas, architectures, algorithms, performance and components
  • Modeling memory devices, controllers, interconnects, processors and advanced workloads

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with modeling tools and techniques
  • 4+ years of experience in embedded systems
  • 4+ years of experience with NAND memory systems
  • 4+ years of experience with C++, SystemC and Python
  • 2+ years of experience with ARM based processors
  • A PhD. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of architecture, microarchitecture and design analysis
  • Deep knowledge of math, statistics and data analysis skills
  • Highly organized and ambitious
  • React and adapt to dynamic project requirements in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent software development practices
  • Creative troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • A strong individual contributor as well as a great teammate
