SR Engineer, Site Quality Management Systems

As a Global Quality (GQ) Site Quality Management Systems (QMS) Sr. Engineer in the Quality Management Office (QMO) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with the local Site Process Stewards, Standards Program Managers, and Leaders to deploy, drive and improve quality standards implementation as well as other QMS processes, projects, and initiatives.

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Serve as subject matter expert for QMS Strategy Projects, Systems, and Quality tools

  • Communicate quality standards and provide an explanation for local QMS partners
  • Mentor and guide the site on proper implementation and use of the quality standards, including conducting formal training where appropriate
  • Gather feedback and escalation items on local issues and work with GQ Standards team for resolutions

Coordinate the deployment of QMS Projects and Standards at your site

  • Be accountable for the success of QMS deployment across value chain functions
  • Collaborate with local teams to define and execute site deployment plan (project, achievements, resource requirements, communication)
  • Serve as the local domain expert and provide post-deployment QMS support

Manage Site QMS Performance to Plan

  • Manage and maintain alignment between local practices and global QMS principles
  • Monitor and drive local QMS performance indices
  • Ensure compliance to standards and raise issues as appropriate
  • Lead and/or guide local QMS efficiency and effectiveness improvement efforts

Champion the QMS Management Review meeting

  • Collaborate with local teams to prepare content relevant to the manufacturing site
  • Champion the Management Review for the site
  • Support Global Quality team to prepare content relevant to global forums

Education

Required

Bachelors Degree

  • Engineering
  • Physics, Chemistry, or other related technical fields

Experience

Required

5 years experience in the following:

  • Semiconductor industry

Desired

Knowledge of quality standards for the automotive industry

Qualifications

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Previous experience in Fabrication, Product engineering, Global Quality, or another relevant group.
  • Knowledge of Micron’s Quality Management System
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, 8D problem solving, and other quality and statistical methods and tools
  • Experience in the application of quality standards for the Automotive Industry
  • The ability to interpret and effectively resolve sophisticated, technical, or ambiguous requests and problems.
  • Experience coordinating projects and efforts across many different project groups.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people
  • Strong communication skills, ability to assemble, analyze, and evaluate data and provide well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to support the business stakeholders.
  • Be self-directed and able to multitask and prioritize projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage workloads successfully and provide outstanding customer service
