R&D Photolithography Overlay Process Development Engineer

As a Photolithography Overlay Engineer in Micron's Technology Development Group (R&D), you will be responsible for understanding technical challenges in overlay for current parts and establishing projects to address them for the N, N+1 and N+2 nodes.  In this position, you will work with Micron engineers, technology partners and vendors to develop overlay solutions to meet device requirements for next-generation semiconductors, and ultimately provide technology transfers to Micron’s worldwide manufacturing network.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor overlay performance of the line, identify performance gap and define solutions.
  • Understand automation system related to overlay control.
  • Work with process development owners, scanner development team, and process integration to define hardware/software requirement that are needed for overlay.
  • Define alignment and overlay metrology marks based on process flow.  Support the scribe need for part tape out
  • Work with vendor applications teams to find areas for overlay improvement with detailed documentation reflecting work plans, results, interpretation, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Summarize plans, progress to existing experimental work, and concluded work in the form of written reports.
  • Standardize methods and procedures across area, department and/or FABs   
  • Attend necessary area and part type meetings to understand the part, and look for areas where photo can contribute to improving overlay.
  • Escalate, as required, to management, issues with overlay support and resources related to PI, vendors, Central Teams, HVM and other process development teams within TD.

 

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Understanding or familiarity of semiconductor processing and structure.
  • Strong aptitude for research and development and ability to create production-worthy technologies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relations with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Proficient in statistics, data analysis, data modeling, Design of Experiments (DOE).

 

Education

M.S./Ph.D.  in Engineering, Physics or some type of relevant area of study to Lithography, or BS + 3 years of experience
