Product Yield Enhancement OPS Engineer

Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) OPS Engineers within the Central Engineering Group at Micron Technology, Inc., primary responsibility is developing, maintaining, and supporting the software for generating the OPS Yields for all Micron DRAM, NAND, SXP, NOR, and SSD products.  A PYE OPS engineer also designs, implements, and supports the majority of the automation software required by PYE.  With OPS, our goal is to generate and report Backend Test yields in a consistent way across all products, to be as accurate as possible, and give timely feedback to the appropriate organizations.  The OPS reports allow us to calculate an estimated yield of product taking into account retest or recovery of the parts on a second pass test.  We currently generate OPS reports for over 80 designs.  An OPS engineer will also be responsible for numerous other reports unrelated to the OPS system.  These additional reports provide support and analysis to either the Fabs, Product Engineering, Design, QA, or PYE engineering. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

•  Primary responsibility is the development and maintenance of software for generating consistent, accurate, and timely OPS reports.

•  Strong programming skills, specifically proficient in PERL.  Or ability to learn PERL if proficient in other programming languages.

•  Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux.

•  Strong working knowledge of HTML and CGI-scripting.

•  Basic understanding of the backend test flows and methodologies.

•  Basic understanding of part operation.

•  Strong understanding of backend test extraction tools (tc tools).

•  Proficient in fab and probe data extractions for data analysis.

•  Able to adapt to new testing methodologies and work with the PE, Test, and IS to insure accurate representation of the new testing methodologies within OPS.

•  Responsible for generating and supporting new automated reports and analysis to fulfill the needs of our customers.

 

Education

                            

•  Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
