As a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designer for Micron Technology, Inc., you will use Cadence PCB design tools to build schematics and provide physical layout of PCBs. You will work as part of a design team collaborating with a product manager and signal integrity engineer. You will also work closely with Manufacturing to ensure a high degree of design-for-manufacturability. This position requires that you make an effort to tackle encountered problems regardless of area responsibility.

Specific duties include:

  • Foster a team of diverse team of Engineers working on design, development testing and deployment of software applications for the Product Engineering groups at Micron
  • As part of the Emerging Memory Solutions Systems performance team – work on performance characterization with state-of-the-art Storage and memory products.
  • Pre-Si phase which includes running test mode and customer operation simulations, establish preliminary configuration of the product, and crafting and maintaining design documentation.
  • Completed Courses and Lab work in fundamentals of electrical, physical, chemical and mechanical material properties, preferably in growth and characterization of electronic materials and thin films
  • You strive to ensure transistor models are correctly targeted to anticipate final silicon
  • Facilitate standardization by being aware of the bigger picture, including design features which will drive standardization and improve efficiency throughout the department.
  • Build and improve new techniques and find extraordinary ways to use the existing tools in order to seek important process issues
  • Coordinate and manage build scheduling, support, and communications as required with contract manufacturing. Monitor program progress by conducting regular status review meetings.

Qualifications:

You will have:

  • Minimum of two years PCB design experience using Cadence tools. Altium and Mentor experience helpful.
  • Strong command of high-speed signal integrity design rules.
  • Proven understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and limitations.
  • Deep understanding of Power Distribution Network design.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams, understand engineering needs and apply that understanding to deliver products that meet customer needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to think and act independently.

Education:

Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

  • Electronics
  • PCB Design
