NAND Product Reliability Engineer

We are currently in search of motivated individuals to be part of the NAND Product Engineering Reliability (PE REL) team. The PE Reliability engineer is responsible for assuring the reliability of Micron NAND Flash products. Role includes evaluating product reliability with respect to various customer usage models e.g. SSD/eMMC/automotive as well as industry standards. Your work will involve debugging issues found during reliability assessment trials and segmenting type and source of issue. The PE REL engineer will work with other engineering teams in resolving reliability issues and driving corrective actions. Upon qualifying materials, he/she might also assist customer and field application teams on related queries and questions regarding Micron NAND products.


There is a high amount of interaction and collaboration with other teams, so being a stand-out teammate with the ability to lead small technical teams is a necessity!


  • Coordinate with technology, NAND design and system development teams on all matters that impact NAND reliability
  • Comprehend new NAND Flash processes/technologies for product reliability issues
  • Develop NAND reliability tests to assess NAND Flash failure mechanisms relative to usage cases
  • Facilitate product qualification and evaluate product quality and reliability with respect to customer usage requirements
  • Comprehend reliability failure mechanisms and modes and perform risk assessment at all decision points within development cycle.
  • Provide technical training and expertise to the broader NAND teams


  • Strong background in semiconductor processing, device physics, semiconductor reliability and device characterization
  • Deep knowledge of NAND Flash structure and operation, all product failure modes and reliability mechanisms
  • Detailed understanding of NAND use cases and associated reliability concerns
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with people from diverse technical backgrounds
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office, scripting, statistical analysis software (JMP), Tableau
  • Good experience in NAND reliability will be added advantage
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience Requirement:

  • Position requires a minimum of a Master’s degree (preferably PhD) in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related academic discipline.
  • Course work or work experience in device physics, semiconductor process, and statistics is required.
  • 0 - 2 years industry experience
