NAND Cell Thin Films Development Engineer

As part of Micron’s Technology Development Organization, you will work in industry-leading, state of the art semiconductor facility for next generation memory technology development. As a NAND Cell process development Engineer, you will strive towards innovative next generation 3D NAND Cell technology.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Deep understanding of developing new process and materials for 3D NAND Cell
  • You will develop new chemistries and hardware for process innovation
  • You will define process and equipment strategies for next generation NAND
  • Design and execute quality experiments to improve NAND Cell performance
  • Deep understanding of fundamental characterization of Cell materials and develop new methodologies that can project NAND Cell reliability
  • Identify and understand failure mechanisms of Cell materials and correlate with NAND Cell electrical behaviors
  • Deliver innovative solutions to enable next generation 3D NAND Cell technology
  • Drive collaboration with integration, device and manufacturing teams to address NAND Cell technology gaps
  • You will initiate and drive project status updates and documentation
  • Support process transfer from R&D to Manufacturing


Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline or BS/MS +5 years’ experience in NAND industry.


Preferred Skills:

  • You have deep knowledge of thin film processing (ALD, CVD) and characterization methods
  • You have fundamental understanding of NAND Cell materials and device physics
  • Deep understanding of the interactions between process/hardware and device performance
  • Highly motivated to advance knowledge and skills
  • You have a very strong thought process/rationales and draw logical conclusions
  • Strong propensity to have a deeper and fundamental understanding and the ability to apply in problem solving
  • Experience and knowledge to provide a strategic direction in highly complex situations and generate creative solutions
  • You articulate what you think and provide a clear direction despite ambiguity
  • You are a self-starter and work collaboratively in global teams in geographically different areas and drive multi-functional teams to achieve challenging goals
  • You are goal oriented and strive to pursue efficiency
  • You can take constructive criticism and extract a positive solution out of different ideas/proposals
  • Strong work ethics and highly motivated
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
