As a Marketing Analyst at Micron Semiconductor Products, Inc., you will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and implementing marketing forecast signals and models based upon current business and competitive market dynamics.  This includes developing proposed forecasting methodologies across Micron’s product portfolio based on analysis of historical demand trends, historical forecast performance metrics, and future demand projections.  You will work closely with the Product Marketing and Business Operations teams, as well as other functions in Micron.

Role Responsibilities & Tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Aligning quarterly and yearly business plan targets for segment.
  • Collaborating with marketing stakeholders in marketing and sales forecast reconciliation (MSR) forums.
  • Implementing forecasts for MSR activities, plan product transitions and ramps, review customer plans and sales forecast.
  • Planning product mix to maximize revenue and gross margin.
  • Highlighting and reviewing key changes in the demand forecast and supporting assumptions.
  • Serving as the single point of contact for Kinaxis Rapid Response System loading of marketing forecast that drives the final publication of the consensus demand signal.
  • Managing and analyzing forecast scenario options.
  • Conducting research to identify and implement best known forecasting methods.
  • Working closely with Business Operations/internal business partners to generate statistical forecasts and drive continuous improvement in our forecast modeling capabilities.
  • Overseeing product life cycle and global business activities (e.g. go to market plans, portfolio management, EOL planning, product collateral, competitor research).
  • Participating in Product/Segment collateral (Updates, presentations, external part catalog, One Micron Guide, competitive landscape, information guides, etc.).
  • Attending segment meetings to gather strategy and competitive data as well as to share identified opportunities for forecast improvement.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in both process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to continuously improve the process, tools, reporting, and communications to achieve business objectives.
  • Providing support for Marketing and Business Operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience programming in Excel using Visual Basic Applications (VBA) to build macros, or automated sequences to do repetitive processing needs.
  • Experience in Excel using formulas (such as vlookup, combination of INDEX and MATCH, combination of TRIM/LEN/RIGHT/LEFT/FIND) to find/manipulate data.
  • Experience in Excel using Pivot Tables for data manipulation, analysis, filtering and translating data into a presentation (such as PowerPoint) to tell a story.
  • Experience in forecasting, including doing analysis of an industry that requires investigation of competition and customers to develop a long-term (3+years) forecast.
  • Experience in marketing, including experience in each of the four Ps of Marketing (Promotion, Place, Product, Price).
  • Experience with Go-To-Market product plans.
  • Experience with product management, including managing a product lifecycle, from New Production Introduction (NPI) through End of Life (EOL).
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, if necessary.

Hours of work:            Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday- also must be willing to work evenings and weekends if necessary  

 

Degree Required:                  BS or equivalent foreign education

Academic Discipline(s):        Marketing, Engineering Management, Operations Management, Business/Finance or Supply Chain Management

Experience Required:           Two years
