Market Intelligence Analyst, Storage Business Unit

The Storage Business Unit (SBU) is looking for a market intelligence analyst focusing on SSD markets to join our team! In this role, the analyst will interpret market trends, formulate models and reports, support existing models and make recommendations upon research findings and industry experience. The analyst also applies qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations.

 

Responsibilities:

Market Research

  • Evaluate SSD market to identify market trends, market opportunities, market penetration strategies and market development metrics
  • Build a point-of-view for each market segment and communicate on a regularly basis this view to senior leadership
  • Understand the broader ecosystem and potential impact on key markets
  • Model technology disruptions within the industry and report these findings to senior management
  • Work with marketing and customer enablement teams to identify use cases within the market and provide guidance on future product requirements

 

Long Term Market Demand Forecasts

  • Develop and maintain long term demand models of the market in collaboration with corporate team
  • Collaborate with corporate team and other business units (BU) on cross BU application forecasts
  • Develop dashboards based on long term demand forecasts
  • Present long-term forecast and market trends on a quarterly basis
  • Accumulate customer data from Customer Account managers and analyze impact to demand plan in collaboration with business managers

 

Market Modeling and Analysis

  • Develop and maintain model aligning tops-down market data with bottoms-up customer forecasts
  • Complete market segment share impact analysis and align with marketing / business operations teams
  • Formulate understanding of market gross margin projections and work with internal pricing teams on long term pricing strategies
  • Develop and maintain new technology model impacting the SSD market

 

Expertise, Consultation and Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Act as a subject matter specialist in special projects as they arise
  • Conduct in-depth data analyses using traditional and sophisticated methods
  • Interpret and present analysis results
  • Assist in the development of market driven material and annual strategic plan

 

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Business or equivalent training
  • 5+ years in market intelligence/business analytics
  • Comfortable with changing priorities, ambiguity, quick turnarounds and large data sets
  • Experience working with external industry analysts (Gartner, IDC, Forward Insights)
  • Sophisticated Excel, PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills and ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Communicates with confidence, clarity and credibility
  • Comfortable interacting with a diverse group of leaders and subject matter specialists in a professional manner
