As a TDE (Technology Development Engineering) Process and Chemistry Intern at Micron, you will work in an industry-leading semiconductor process technology development area related to new memory devices and technologies.  In this position, you will learn about precursor design and synthetic strategies, complex processes, materials and structures.  As you work in a cross-functional team environment, you will help develop materials and electrical understanding in order to optimize electrical performance and reliability.    



Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Synthesis of organometallic precursors for CVD- and ALD-applications
  • Development and implementation of complex semiconductor processing techniques and documenting correlations to downstream observations
  • Researching and learning fundamental physical and chemical mechanisms
  • Presenting results of learning in small group setting
  • Working with lab personnel to measure physical and chemical properties of materials 



Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Experience in synthetic chemistry
  • Hands on skill set for dealing with all necessary laboratory chemicals and equipment in a safe manner on a daily basis
  • Willing to work with chemicals common in the semiconductor field along with all related PPE
  • Able to read and understand chemical documentation such as MSDS and follow required safety protocols
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor device physics, physical and electrical characterization techniques
  • Working knowledge of materials science and analysis 



Current MS or PhD student in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.  Exceptional undergraduates may be considered.
