As a Category Supplier Manager in the Procurement organization at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be the primary category point of contact for supplier interactions, performance management, and negotiations. In this role, you will partner with internal stakeholders to build comprehensive view of supplier performance for continued sourcing success. You will lead the development and implementation of category strategies and projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and contract negotiation. This is accomplished through building and maintaining strategic supplier relationships to meet needs according to category strategies.
In this role, you will engage in supplier benchmarking analysis to formulate and lead and execute strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. Additional responsibilities include negotiating terms, conditions and pricing to leverage spend, leading and participating in department projects, serving as a primary contact for industry and supplier information, and acting as a mentor for other members within the Procurement organization.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for this position will have, but not limited to:
- To serve as Intern during the months of May-August, 2019
- Ability to quickly gather and analyze data, and grasp customer requirements under time constraints in a changing environment.
- The Ability to negotiate complex strategic agreements
- Extremely strong analytical skills
- The ability to effectively manage competing priorities among the different operations, and to bring a cohesive direction to the buying teams
- Presentation skills necessary to professionally represent Micron within the supplier community
- Strong skills in directing meetings and high-level supplier negotiations.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, as well as interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, and subject matter experts.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SQL and relation data bases.
Education
Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with a focus in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
