Intern - Preventive Maintenance Coordinator

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for organizing and scheduling preventative and predictive maintenance activities which will maximize equipment uptime, improve reliability and efficiency and reduce cost. In addition, the Facilities Maintenance PM Coordinator is responsible for providing metrics utilizing CMMS data. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality:

  • Utilizes and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed
  • Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety
  • Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment
  • Follows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
  • Leads quality improvement initiatives in their area of expertise to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and drive cost savings

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics
  • Provides a high level of service with strong customer focus and builds effective relationships with supported teams
  • Proactively seeks and provides feedback to internal and external management regarding the quality of work being performed
  • Generates and incorporates ideas from others to influence or enable key strategic objectives
  • Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals
  • Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation
  • Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves
  • Coordinates Preventative Maintenance (pm) between all groups, to include engineering and coordinators

Project Management/Planning:

  • Tracks actions and provides escalation path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time
  • Works with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections
  • Ensures proper prioritization of PMs and assigns PM/PDM work orders
  • Drives equipment reliability improvements through efficient preventative maintenance planning and on-time completion of PM activities

Technical/Data Analysis:

  • Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savings
  • Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution
  • Performs long-term analysis on existing equipment for End-of-Life planning using Maximo data and SME input
  • Leads reliability metrics using CMMS data and reporting
  • Uses CMMS capabilities to accurately track asset/equipment costs over time


  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong digital literacy in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and CMMS systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven skills in working effectively with team members from different disciplines
  • Strong understanding of data, data systems, and metrics used to measure and improve processes
  • Ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve efficiency and reduce cost
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with ability to solve and identify root cause
  • Ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams
  • Detail-oriented mindset and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience leading teams and projects

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Minimum – Relevant degree or appropriate certification; experience managing maintenance routines using an advanced CMMS program
  • Industrial equipment maintenance
  • Semiconductor manufacturing operations and maintenance


This internship will be for the Spring/Summer of 2021.
