The Micron IT Engineering Services (EngServ) team provides modern development infrastructure tools to hundreds of teams throughout Micron. The teams we empower work in every area of the company including engineering and product teams, IT teams and business teams.

 

As a member of the EngServ Design team, you will have a key role in enabling teams to capture, manage, automate and understand their work. We provide Enterprise-wide support for Atlassian Jira (issue/bug tracking, team planning, work management), Atlassian Confluence (engineering wiki), Atlassian Bitbucket (Git repo hosting and code/branch management), jFrog Artifactory (binary artifact management), Jenkins (continuous integration) and QA Symphony qTest (test management).

 

As a member of the EngServ Design team, you will work within a small team of highly experienced software engineers and DevOps design engineers to build and configure DevOps solutions for Micron development teams. One potential area of focus for this internship might be the design and implementation of Jenkins Shared Pipeline libraries and establishing those libraries as "internal open source" projects. The full-time members within our team engage in a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities including application administration, training, development of self-help documentation, coaching, change facilitation and custom software development.

 

Qualifications

  • Programming and shell scripting experience (i.e. Python, Linux, Shell scripting)
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills (English)

 

Preferred

  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, programming languages and operating systems
  • Knowledge of software engineering tools & methods (e.g. issue/bug tracking, version control, peer review, testing)
  • Experience debugging end-user web-application problems and diagnosing usage/user experience confusion
  • Experience providing quality written documentation (English)
  • Experience with customer service, especially with highly technical customers (engineers)

 

Education

  • Minimum of sophomore (pursuit of Bachelor’s) status in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
