Intern- Global Supply Chain Program Manager

Micron Technology is seeking a highly motivated Global Supply Chain (GSC) Program Manager Intern to improve and support the program management capabilities that drive a 20+ billion-dollar semiconductor supply chain. In this role, you will be responsible for duties related to running successful programs and projects.  You will work on initiatives that support and benefit the entire Project Management Organization (PMO) focused on both project management and business process analysis.  You will take care of, monitor, and support projects through all phases from initiation, planning, execution/control, and on-time project closure.  You will also support business process initiatives. You will also play a dedicated role in various levels of critical planning including identifying project requirements, establishing clear and achievable objectives, coordinating and adapting the specifications and approach to the different concerns and expectations of various partners, by adhering to the Micron Project Methodology and PMI project standards.

The Program Manager is a strategic role that requires collaboration with business partners to ensure business needs are met. This includes understanding how a project impacts the strategic roadmap of the business and aligning project execution to help achieve business objectives.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

You will have a dynamic role working closely with our highly motivated project teams

  • Provide leadership within the team environment. Set the right tone given the project needs.
  • Identify required project resources, collaborate with project partners, exhibit a solution-oriented mindset in resolving issues, assign project resources and support a high performing team.
  • Assist with initiatives that support and benefit the entire Project Management Organization (PMO) focused on both project management and business process analysis.
  • Early morning and evening hours required to facilitate work cross-sites (different time zones)

Communications

  • Represent the project to its governing authority and other management as requested
  • Ensure regular information flow to all areas and members of the project team
  • Provide status reports to program/project partners

Handle the project timeline

  • Create and maintain a detailed project timeline in collaboration with team members
  • Manage and track the project schedule in collaboration with team members
  • Deliver projects within the timeline that has been formally approved

Improve projects with initiative

  • Identify, document, and respond to risk with mitigation, contingency, or other risk response plans
  • Call out risks and issues to the appropriate level and formality for resolution
  • Perform problem solving at the individual, team, or leadership level
  • Contribute/Co–Lead problem solving efforts by providing guidance for effective and timely resolution

Manage project scope and change

  • Ensure project requirements are captured, documented, and formally approved
  • Turn data into action by providing schedule or resource impacts as appropriate and evaluating the completeness and quality of project deliverables

Integration and Negotiation to enhance the business

  • You will provide resources support and work closely with project teams for programs and projects
  • Deliver the project’s outcome to the functional organizations to execute required processes
  • Need to develop a deep understanding of timelines and system environments across projects and programs
  • Operate in a shared resource environment, including Micron direct and consulting resources
  • Observe current portfolio and company priorities

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology or related fields
  • Knowledge of supply chain management
  • Proficient in project management tools, such as Microsoft Project

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or MBA in Business Administration, Engineering or Operations Research
  • 1 year of experience in running projects with proven tools, techniques and processes such as PMBOK by PMI
  • Cross-functional experience in driving projects from idea to implementation and adoption, working with global teams across countries
