The Facilities Planning Engineer Intern at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working with many engineering disciplines! In this role you will plan facilities capacities, future capital, and space management in support of manufacturing and partner areas.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Finishes required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
  • Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partners using accurate change management practices
  • Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (ERT, Supervision, etc.)
  • Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches on safety issues
  • Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identifies cost savings.
  • Partners with key team members to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics and efficiency and stability of systems
  • Collaborates with areas leaders to build personal performance and development goals
  • Partners with area leaders and decision makers to gather input for area improvement
  • Communicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change control
  • Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation
  • Actively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves and provides regular status updates
  • Collaborate with customers to identify needs and potential opportunities while seeking to better understand customer needs
  • Utilizes a detailed project management methodology to develop, prioritize and run projects
  • Leads projects to ensure work is completed within the required scope, schedule and budget
  • Defines and leads complex, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to Micron

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills and ability to efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner and proven use of critical thinking skills
  • Excitement for planning, driving and completing complex projects effectively
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members of varying disciplines
  • Strong leadership skills with the confirmed ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups
  • Advanced PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MICAP, Ariba, and MAXIM
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency
  • Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologies
  • Deep knowledge of space management theory, forecasting system capacities, etc.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management
  • Preferred: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Students must have continued coursework following completion of their internship (i.e. should not graduate prior to September 2021)
