As a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Equipment Engineering Group at Micron Systems Integration, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical fixtures, mechanisms and finished equipment for semiconductor processing and testing. Performing analytical studies to determine optimal design considerations while directing support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, prototype fabrication and field implementation/distribution. This position will include both new development activities as well as sustaining and concurrent engineering functions.

 

As a Systems Integration (SIG) Controls and Instrumentation Engineering Intern you will be responsible for the design and implementation of control systems for automated test equipment within a multi-disciplined engineering team.  This includes a broad range of types; including, but not limited to: environmental chambers, semiconductor testers and robotic handling equipment.

Design responsibilities:

  • Internal equipment power distribution, load estimation and branch protection of DC, single phase and three phase AC.
  • Analog and digital I/O specification, design and distribution.  
  • Specification and implementation of power supplies, pilot devices, sensors, relays, motion control systems and components, circuit protection and safety rated control devices. 
  • Pneumatic design, preparation, control and distribution.
  • Control System electrical documentation: schematics, component documentation and Bill of Materials.

Team responsibilities:

  • Participate in multi-disciplined team to define requirements, schedule, implement and document design.
  • Hands on participation of equipment prototype alpha builds.
  • Participate in cooperative engineering hand-off to support teams for high volume manufacturing. 
  • Interface with Product Engineering and Quality teams to maintain design changes and documentation throughout the life of a product.
  • Efficient time management and multi-tasking capabilities. 
  • Embrace business volatility and adjust accordingly.
  • Participate in NRTL and CE compliance testing.
  • Maintain high level of excellence regarding state of the art of ATE industry and equipment safety compliance requirements.

  • Recognize and resolve safety or environmental issues, including assistance to develop appropriate procedures and documentation

 

 

Education:   B.S. in Electrical or Control Engineering or related course work in this field.
