Intern - Compact Modeling Engineer

As an engineering intern in the compact modeling team at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support technology and product development by authoring automation of semiconductor device tests and simulations to evaluate accuracy of simulations.  During your internship, you will have the opportunity to work with compact modeling, device characterization, and reliability engineers.

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Automation and report generation for simulation to hardware analysis;
  • Utilize statistical methods to identifying key hardware to simulation gaps;
  • Report your findings to our engineering teams in a collaborative environment;

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Ability to independently adapt & learn;
  • Background in solid state physics, semiconductor processing and device characterization;
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of software tools and operating systems, including but not limited to:
    • Python/Pandas
    • PERL
    • C/C++
    • JMP/JSL
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience in automating data analysis methods;
  • Familiarity with spice simulation and layout platforms and EDA tools including, but not limited to:
    • HSPICE
    • FINESIM
    • Cadence Virtuoso Schematic Editor
    • Synopsis StarRC
  • Familiarity with operation of semiconductor instrumentation including, but not limited to:
    • Parameter analyzers, SPA, SMU
    • LCR meters
    • Network analyzers
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Pulse & waveform generators
    • Wafer probers

 

Education Requirements:

Working towards completion of Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PhD in the following areas: electrical engineering, computer science, physics or related discipline. Graduation date should not be prior to December 2021.
