GQ Workforce Development Manager

As the Global Workforce Development Manager, you will be responsible for providing workforce development and documentation support to the Global Quality organization and Micron’s Quality initiatives. You will be tasked with continuously improving and refining employee development solutions intended to meet the increasingly complex needs of the GQ organization, along with deploying Quality-focused training to the Micron network. This includes coordinating with Global Quality leadership across Micron’s many geographies to analyze and improve skill and knowledge gaps within their teams, partnering with the network Quality process owners to deploy training solutions to all affected team members, and supporting the documentation lifecycle of Global Quality standards. You will also be responsible to evaluate and continuously develop Global Quality members to increase their overall contribution and meet future business needs.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

Communication/Collaboration

Coordinates required training related to Global Quality functions and business process improvements and ensures that any supporting documentation is created or updated.

Partners closely with Global Quality leadership to ensure continuous improvement and development of their team members

Collaborates with Global Quality leadership teams to ensure appropriate both skill and developmental training plans are created, executed to and evaluated for success

Collaborates on setting the vision and direction of the Global Quality WFD team

Coordinates with workforce development teams throughout the network to help address their Quality-related training needs and to deploy quality-centered training solutions

Project Management/Planning:

Identifies, prioritizes and drives projects that improve the effectiveness of internal Global Quality teams in all of their various job responsibilities

Develops project plans to meet tactical and strategic Global Quality workforce development needs

Drives meetings and projects to value-added results and removing non-value-added activities at all levels

Drives projects to ensure that deliverables are completed within the required timeframe

Performance Management:

Invests in the professional development of direct reports to meet business needs and succession

Conducts performance management and professional development of direct reports through clear expectations and accountability

Knows Micron policies and partnering closely with HR

Follows up on TM performance gaps and recommends appropriate solutions based on a deep understanding of what training can/can not fix

Mentors leaders within Global Quality to ensure continuous improvement of skill and succession management

Documentation

Provide ongoing support for the full documentation lifecycle of the worldwide Global Quality standards. This includes supporting the timely editing, review, and facilitating the translations of all standards.

Facilitate the creation and ongoing maintenance of all internal Global Quality operations procedures

Ensure all team members follow and employ sound technical writing principles and standards

Understand and apply all appropriate management support to Micron’s Record Retention policies and ensure that all supporting documentation meets those requirements.   

Quality

Understand, advocate, and support all Global Quality standards throughout the Micron network.

 

Key skills that will enable success in this role include:

Proven ability to lead and develop a highly effective team

Strong knowledge of SuccessFactors learn management system

Proven ability to drive projects and initiatives to successful outcomes

Have a highly collaborative attitude and a strong sense of urgency

Demonstrated teaching ability that informs and engages audiences

Basic understanding of instructional design principles

Demonstrated knowledge of guiding others to define and implement training and development initiatives.

Expertise in Microsoft Office applications and MS SharePoint

Strong understanding of quality principals

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in training/workforce development preferred.
