As the Boise Facilities Design & Engineering Manager, you will be overseeing the engineering and design of base build & equipment installations, including upgrades and site renovations on the Boise campus.  You will manage team performance, enable career development by coaching, mentoring and improving technical skills of team members. You will deliver competitive results by removing barriers, assisting in problem solving and escalating business critical issues. You and your team will be responsible for continuously improving the work standards, labor productivity and efficient execution of the design packages, through Best Known Method sharing and alignment of activities. Team performance must be measurable and have a metric for success, while ensuring compliance with company, safety and environmental requirements. You will lead through example in providing proactive coordination with key stakeholders and be a positive influence to your team through teamwork and trust.

 

Area Management:

  • Ensure team executes designs in compliance with city, state, and/or federal agency requirements
  • Identify manage and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Sets Facility Engineering/Design goals based on the site and facilities areas of focus.
  • Conducting studies and "what ifs" to determine potential opportunities.
  • Articulate compelling and inspiring visions and strategies.
  • Encourage technical review and collaboration within project teams
  • Provide continuous improvement analysis of the tool install process and procedures
  • Ensure team compliance with all department safety and environmental requirements
  • Support capital funding requirements in coordination with key stakeholders

 

Performance Management

  • Build an environment of motivation to foster team members engagement to the fullest of their potential.
  • Develop a succession management strategy and periodically conduct talent reviews within department.
  • Advocate a performance management culture, monitoring the use of the performance management system within the department.
  • Ensure that department learning and development opportunities are identified and fulfilled.

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Remain current on business and industry knowledge; current and possible future polices, practices and trends.
  • Provide ideas and recommendations to site leadership on department initiatives.
  • Create competitive and innovative strategies and plans.
  • Identify, understand and mitigate risk before making critical decisions.

 

Program Management

  • Drive a culture of project management within the department.
  • Prioritize and approve projects to align with Site areas of focus.
  • Manage, measure and monitor projects to ensure deliverables and time frames are met.

 

Cost Management

  • Set aggressive area budgets that aligns with site goals.
  • Assumes full responsibility for planning, budgeting, executing, and delivering results.
  • Manage, measure and monitor costs within your area.

 

Quality Management

  • Manage, measure and monitor quality within your department.
  • Promote a quality conscious culture within the sphere of influence.
  • Drive innovative, strategic solutions for quality improvement.
  • Analyze and improve critical business processes utilizing the quality management system framework.
  • Ensuring quality of design produced and as-builts are maintained for your areas of discipline.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent

 

Experience:

  • Preferred: 3 years of experience in Facilities semiconductor manufacturing-related engineering work
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
