Environmental Engineer

As an Environmental Engineer on the EHS team, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental regulatory compliance while protecting company assets (people, property, time) that are consistent with Micron’s greater business strategy, and delivering cost effective processes. You will represent Micron interests to external stakeholders on matters pertaining to Environmental regulatory compliance and asset protection and ensuring environmental resources are adequate to accomplish the organization’s objectives.  Familiarity with RCRA, TSCA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA and ISO14001 preferred.

 

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Understand local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Identify potential areas of non-compliance through personal on-site inspections or audits
  • Recommend and implement procedures to improve environmental compliance
  • Prepare, review and file permit applications and regulatory reports
  • Represent Micron in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties
  • Ensure all relevant permits and licenses are up to date and valid
  • Respond to environmental issues and carries and answers on-call phone when assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree:  Science, preferably: environmental engineering, chemistry, or related field of study
  • Experience: 2-5 years in related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
