EMI Senior Signal Integrity Engineer - Customer Support

As an EMI Senior Signal Integrity Engineer in the Electromagnetic Characterization Lab you are responsible for leading the support, de-bug and communication efforts related to customer EMI/EMC issues. This includes working closely with Business Units, Field Application Engineers, Product Engineers, internal Subject Matter Experts, and customers to resolve customer issues in a timely manner.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive path finding and debug efforts to fully understand the customer reported EMI issue
  • Enable and configure customer test platforms to duplicate and verify customer reported system issues
  • Drive sub-system and/or component level characterization to understand the sources of excessive emissions
  • Thorough analysis and understanding of measurement data to correlate and/or separate emission results to system, sub-system and/or component contributions and problem areas.
  • Review and consult with Quality teams on EMI test procedures and processes to ensure findings from customer reported issues are fed back into quality checks.
  • Utilize and develop EMI data analysis methods to enhance understanding of component and sub-system emissions
  • Provide feedback to design teams on possible improvements and methods of emissions mitigation.
  • Support and provide technical guidance on ESD, EMI and other EMC issues that arise
  • Support development of internal EMI characterization tools and methodologies

 

Qualifications:

  • MSEE+ with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong background in Electromagnetics, RF and antenna theory
  • Strong background and thorough understanding of EMI Characterization tools
  • Strong background and understanding of EMI/EMC industry standards and test methodologies
  • Proven track record of successful management of technical projects
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment and understanding of their usage (SAs, VNAs, etc)
  • Experience with Anechoic Chambers, TEM/GTEM and NF testing environment
  • Experience with 3D SI and EMI simulation and modeling is a plus
  • Experience with customer support and customer engagement is a plus
