EMI Characterization Engineer

General Responsibilities:

As an EMI Characterization Engineer in the Electromagnetic Characterization Lab you are responsible for supporting the test and characterization of Micron Component level products for EMI performance.  This includes; working with the lead EMI Signal Integrity Engineer to develop and validate test methodologies and systems to test and characterize our component level products, working with Micron Product and Test Engineers to develop test code and to integrate EMI test systems with manufacturing test platforms, as well as, reviewing, post-processing and analyzing EMI test and characterization data to help identify a benchmark and understand Micron component level performance.

EMI characterization of Micron Component level products includes:

  • Ensuring hardware and software are enabled and readily available
  • Supporting the test and measurement of the device
  • Analyzing and post-processing test results
  • Reporting on the EMI performance of both Micron and Competitor products
  • Thorough analysis and understanding of measurement data to correlate emission results to system and board level features and/or data pattern dependencies.

Desired Qualifications:

  • MSEE with background in Electromagnetics or BSEE w/5+ years of experience in related field
  • Strong background in Electromagnetics, RF and antenna theory
  • Strong background and thorough understanding of EMI Characterization tools
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment and understanding of their usage (SAs, VNAs, etc)
  • Experience with Anechoic Chambers, TEM/GTEM and Near Field testing environments
  • Experience with 3D SI/PI/EMI simulation and modeling tools is a plus
  • Experience/understanding FCC Compliance and/or Automotive Compliance testing a plus
